Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:04 PM

Yeah i'm grade 10 too, 15 years old. Well i used to be in grade 10 - year 11 next year :upset:

My sister recently finished year 12 and said year 11 and 12 were incredibly torturous. :upset: So thatssomething to look foward to over summer.

Fish 12-17-2005 08:06 PM

I heard grade 11 was the hardest, so im not really looking forward to it at all, my sister is in grade 12 at the moment and it graduating this year, hopefully she moves out too

billiejoe84 12-17-2005 08:09 PM

Haha, 10th graders.

/patronising++

So, today was the first day after university broke up, and consequently work was dead, apart from the few people who brough mummy and daddy in for dinner before heading off home. I love it when it's really quiet - you just sit around and read the papers and drink free Pepsi. And get paid for it! Yes.

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:10 PM

Haha yeah no chance over here. Mine is unbelievably lazy. She only just got her Ls for driving and she's 17 or 18 or something, so there's not really any chance she'll be moving out anytime soon. :upset:

Is it snowing much where you are?

Fish 12-17-2005 08:11 PM

i get free pepsi at work :smoke:

/we got about 30 cm of snow just the other day

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:13 PM

I don't work/don't get free pepsi. :upset:

billiejoe84 12-17-2005 08:16 PM
I don't work/don't get free pepsi. :upset:
Sir, I suggest (when you're old enough) a bar. A quiet one. Then you can follow in my footsteps.

My favourite thing about having unlimited access to the Pepsi pump and cordial bottles is coming up with wierd combinations of flavours. Mixing half Pepsi and half lemonade is fun, as is a pint of Pepsi with some lemonade syrup in it. Although I do strongly recommend mixing blackcurrant or lime with either Pepsi or lemonade. Sweet to the degree that you can get away with not eating for days. As, indeed, I have not.

So, what's up, guys?

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:21 PM

*whispers* Nothing much over here but Fish is studying for a physics test so

Shhhhhh....

Fish 12-17-2005 08:23 PM

billiejoe84 12-17-2005 08:27 PM
*starts singning minority* :p
Indeed, sir. Although you should sing 'World Full Of Hate' as that's what we were playing there.

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:29 PM

That looks like a nice gig. Which one are you?

Fish 12-17-2005 08:30 PM
Indeed, sir. Although you should sing 'World Full Of Hate' as that's what we were playing there.
Yes, I am aware it looks like I have a Christmas tree on my head. But yes, I can do When I Come Around easily. When I get a new top e string I can do it by myself, as I can play all of the parts.

/multi-talented

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:33 PM

How many turned up to watch?

Fish 12-17-2005 08:33 PM

What do you play?

billiejoe84 12-17-2005 08:35 PM

Ahahahaha! I love making people jealous.

I reckon there was about 30 people there... The girl who took the photo was mid-crowd anyway. The whole room was packed, people standing on the sofa at the back, etc.

/further jealousy-inducing :p

Fish 12-17-2005 08:35 PM

If it makes you feel better, the nerves you can get just before you start playing are almost enough to make you think twice about it. Then you start playing the first song and everyone stops talking and watches you, and you just think what a stupid idea this was.

And then you sing your first line and forget all about the audience until the last bar of the last song. It's pretty wierd.

Ostrich Man 12-17-2005 08:38 PM

Were there other bands there or was it just you guys performing?

Fish 12-17-2005 08:40 PM

hmm.. so you're the lead singner? I guess you'd get pretty nervous at first, but when everyone starts cheering for you its like ..... :smoke:

billiejoe84 12-17-2005 08:41 PM
Were there other bands there or was it just you guys performing?
Nah, we were second out of three bands. We got by far the biggest cheers and most people watching though. It was mint. Especially as it was our first gig playing with proper PA and drumkit and stuff, and also our first gig playing mostly originals. I can't wait for our next one now.

Edit: To Fish: No, we have a Blink-style 2-vocalist setup. Rik and I share vocal parts. That's why he's singing on the photo.

I have a better voice than him though

It's true. I played in front of my middle school last year (like 300 kids were there) and I just kinda forgot about everything. Other than Radio and our 6 minute version of "Every Breath You Take" without any lyrics, the other songs were ****. I felt pretty comfortable playing ****ty songs, and it was a good time. ***Wishing we played Chick Magnet... because it soooo describes me.

Fish 12-17-2005 08:45 PM

haha nice, cover some Coheed and Cambria. Claudio is so good at playing and singning at the same time

edit: you play guitar? (to homecatmickey)

You have no idea what it's like for me...I can't stand The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Metallica..Those 3 bands are ones that most of my friends either love or at least like.
