Light__Fantastic 08-25-2006 05:11 PM

Not really its actually the black dude that dies.

ofDooM 08-25-2006 05:13 PM

a ruined ending is not fun...

EDIT: egad its raining! in arizona?!?!

10 minutes before school ends.

Sletalla 08-25-2006 05:32 PM

I read an in depth summary and outline of the book before I began to read it.
I always do that before I have to read a book for a course. It makes it easier to analyze and retain, and I can ruin the ending for everybody else before I read it.
I have 1 and a 1/2 weeks to read the whole book. It was my summer english project thing.

I read the first chapter at school and decided it wasn't my cuppa tea (or coffe).
One and a half weeks is plenty of time for it. I started it the 19th, read about 50 pages, and neglected it again until today. I'll have it done by 9 tonight.
It's not a very difficult book to read.

Win A Rabbit 08-25-2006 06:41 PM

There was a girl in my class who got to read that book for a second time because she was too christian for the "God damn" 's in "Of Mice and Men".

Which basically meant she sat there and pretended to read it, then did the quizzes on each chapter that she remembered from the year before.

Sletalla 08-25-2006 07:02 PM

Oh, yes. Using God's name in vain is a perfectly valid reason to ignore a powerful story about the value of friendship and having to make the right choice when both options are gruesome.

I didn't like that book. I wish I had thought of that excuse.

AND OMFGDFDJSFISJDOI!JIOJ!!!AAAAH!
I found Winifred Horan's albums on slsk. I love Winnie. =/

Win A Rabbit 08-25-2006 07:18 PM

Hmm... So I just drew a big stick man down my whole right forearm. I want to draw a big stick woman down my left, but I'm using permanent marker, and I blow at drawing with my right hand. I'm trying to do an outline in pen, but it's not working so well. I hope this works out. Pics if it does.

Edit: didn't work. Just looks like a retarded version of the first one.

Janeway 08-25-2006 07:44 PM

Is there a limit on who can post in the pit now? =/

MXicanDrummer 08-25-2006 07:45 PM

I hear pit posting doesnt effect your postcount.

Janeway 08-25-2006 07:48 PM

Wtf? It doesn't.

Why the hell is anybody posting in it then?
And all of the topics are supremely asinine. More so than before.

MXicanDrummer 08-25-2006 07:56 PM

This is the internet...

I think you have to be a member for 2 weeks before you can post in the pit. I think I read that somewhere.

I'm so close to being able to touch my toes. Not even 2 weeks ago, I was a good foot from my toes, now I'm like an inch away. By tomorrow I think I'll be able to touch. Then I can actually do some actual yoga.

And I guess I'm going camping with my friends Sunday through Tuesday. Just heard about it a couple hours ago. Should be fun.

Leprechauns1021 08-26-2006 12:03 AM

Eh, I just figured out today that Im basically fuked school wise. Im gonna be loaded my next two years. Im going to have to take roughly 6 AP tests in the next 2 yrs, and Im taking one this year (im only a soph).

Higher standards suck

White 08-26-2006 12:09 AM

So I was in at the store today, I was gonna buy the double pedal seeing as I would use that alot more than another floor tom, but then I decided not to because they had jsut started offering private lessons at 15$ each, so instead of both the floor tom and the pedal I am going to get that, and now I am very happy cause I am much more concerned on learning than on gear, and I ahve been practicing rudiments alot and improving somewhat I find

Electric Requiem 08-26-2006 12:11 AM
whats a good site to find play along tracks?
http://www.music4drums.net/ this is a really good one, posted several times before
http://www.drummerworld.com/index2.htmlthere are a few on here aswell, but only a very limited selection.

EDIT: Im going out tomorrow to get a new cowbell, and new resos for my kit. It came with all evans batters, should I just go with g1s, or should I look into ambs or the aquarian equivilant?

Seafroggys 08-26-2006 12:27 AM

w00t! Are Gator Cases any good? Cause I just bought some for my drums for $300. I'm happy, I can go to gigs, and all the other amateur bands can gaze at my awesomeness cause I use hardcases!

Win A Rabbit 08-26-2006 12:30 AM

I've never felt the need for cases. I never bring a whole lot to gigs anyways though, I guess.

All I do is stack my drums, put my hardware in a little basket, and occasionally take the cymbals off the stands and put them in my cymbal case. Most of my gigs have been in town though, and we usually have a seperate vehicle just for equipment.

Seafroggys 08-26-2006 12:52 AM

well I've been wrapping my drums in thick blankets, and I don't let anybody else carry them because I'm paranoid.

Now, I can stack my drums higher, no blankets are needed, no fear of amps falling, and I'm fine with anybody carrying my drums.

Sunshine 08-26-2006 01:04 AM

I almost died today.

I'm such a reckless driver.

MatthewMeredith 08-26-2006 01:06 AM

Scary, Sunshine...... I'm a reckless driver, but I don't almost die.

I'm good that way.

Off topic: I have a girlfriend now!!! I'm euphoric!!!!

Sunshine 08-26-2006 01:07 AM

Well, its not like I almost killed anybody ELSE.

I accidentally forgot to slow down so I made a turn at ~55 mph on a slick road. Rubber burned, tires screeched, the car spun outta control, I almost hit a curb, my life flashed before my eyes...

It was a scary, scary thing.

It was almost awesome.

MatthewMeredith 08-26-2006 01:09 AM

Wow sounds like quite the rush.

I bet you liked all the hightened sensations, didn't you...

Gotta love that adrenaline :D

Wooooo my name got changed!!!!! :D:D:D

Sunshine 08-26-2006 01:20 AM

Eh, no.

I'd rather not have something that scary happen again for a little while.

And my nose still burns from the smell of burnt rubber. I bet my tires are screwed up like way...which blows, because they're fairly new.

MatthewMeredith 08-26-2006 01:21 AM

You should get your alignment checked :thumb:

Janeway 08-26-2006 01:27 AM

I think I'm going to write a book.

About lesbians.

No, it's going to be about a bunch of housewives...

Or lesbian skinheads. Yes, that was a good idea when I had it.
But I don't know how to start it.

And I'm bad at writing.

And I think I'm just going to go knit instead.

Sunshine 08-26-2006 01:29 AM

Naaah. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Just a thousand more miles to go and it'll be time for a check-up anyway.

MatthewMeredith 08-26-2006 01:36 AM

Pepsi, I started writing a book. I'll post it up here once I get it on my other computer. It's kind of crazy.

Go checkups! Ew I have to go to the dentist for a check up. Ugh.

Bed time! G'night everyone.

Janeway 08-26-2006 01:37 AM

I got a graphing calculator for my graphing calculator course.

It's the most confusing thing I've ever seen in my life. I don't even know what half of the buttons on the regular TI-30XA mean and I've used the same one since 6th grade.
This thing is insane. =/

Edit: Good night.

Seafroggys 08-26-2006 01:44 AM
You should get your alignment checked :thumb:
yeah, I should probably do that. I keep telling people I'm Chaotic Good, but no one believes me :P

Sunshine 08-26-2006 01:45 AM

Ugh.

My nose still hurts from the burnt rubber smell.
