It's true, there's nothing wrong with them musically, it's just that Fred Durst is a bit of a joke. |
Lb?

I like the way they combined rap & metal. I just wish it wasn't a whiny, Aston Kutcher-style voice with terrible lyrics. |
Meh, I can take or leave the rap aspect. Get someone with a good singing voice in there. Or just the Rage singer. He'd have done it better.
|
Ashton Kutcher has done rap-metal? I think you have rap-metal confused with Bruce Willis' wife.

I lol'd a little. |
I did too, tbh.

Can we also agree that Limp Bizkit's DJ is a totally useless member? And Zach de la Rocha must not lower himself to those guys. Sure, the music was pretty good at times, but RATM is a million times better 100% of the time. Seriously, Tim, Tom, and Brad make up one of the tightest and most rippin' trios ever. |
If RATM's music was a bit heavier, I'd be a bigger fan. Solid, tight players though.
|
I think they definitely utilise DJ Lethal, but if he had never been there, I wouldn't have been thinking 'man, these guys need someone spinning the decks...'. Rage and LB are too different though really to compare properly I guess. The last EP LB released was actually pretty good - no DJ stuff really, and heavier material. Less 'comical'. But Durst still ruined it for the most part. Most people I know don't even know it exists D:

playing Shadow of the Colossus
Game is incredible. |
playing Shadow of the Colossus
Game is incredible.
I don't know it. What sort of game is it/what's the story? By the way, you at all interested in checking out the new album? It would be cool if you did (even though you didn't seem like much of anything we've done so far, maybe the recordings will offer a new perspective [whether that makes them better or worse]), I'd like to hear what you think. |

SotC is like a huge action/adventure game where it just sort of starts in the middle of a story (you're a dude who rides into a temple with this dead girl because you've heard you can revive the dead there), and you get told by the omnipotent presence there that you have to go kill the Colossi if you want any chance of bringing her back. The thing is that the Colossi are fucking huge. You have to literally scale them by grabbing onto their fur/other ledges (?) and then kill them. It's hard to explain, because that doesn't really do it justice. The game has absolutely phenomenal atmosphere, and it's sooooo vast that it's incredible. A very lonely game, because there's nothing in the world except for you, your horse, and the Colossi. It's a PS2 release, so if you have a PS2 or a backwards compatible PS3, I really, really recommend picking it up. I snagged a used copy the other day for $8, and it was definitely worth it. Scooped up a bunch of Game of the Year awards when it came out back in 2005, and IGN gave it a 9.7. |
That sounds kind of creepy and strange, cool though. Unfortunately I don't have a PS2 anymore and my PS3 isn't backwards compatible. I'll still look into the game beause I like the sounds of it.
And thank you for giving us another chance. :D |
My PS3 isn't either, but thankfully my girlfriend bought one because she had previously been using her brother's when she was still at home, but we have a couple more FF's to finish, so it was kind of necessary to get one.
|
I see. Which one are you on now?
I'm in the process of totally owning FFVII. I got the Huge Materia, Ultima, and Catastrophe (Barrett's lvl4 limit) from the Corel reactor train thing. I need to do the Fort Condor thing now. Cloud is in Mideel. And I'm working on catching and breeding chocobos. I've caught a wonderful female which I'll use to make my gold one, but I still need to breed all the other ones. And I have a ton of mastered materia. I have, like, 5 or 6 ALLs mastered, in addition to a lot of others. I've been using weaker weapons that have double growth and I'm still killing it. |
We've finished IV, V, VI, VII, and X. Almost done IX, and then we're going to do VIII and XII. XI doesn't count, clearly, because it's an MMORPG, and X-2 was never made. Wink wink nudge nudge.
My game of VII was similar to yours. I finished with my main party all at 99 and basically everything maxed and mastered. Sephiroth was a one-hit kill from Cloud, or pretty close to. |
Sweet. My characters are all at levels in their mid-50s, I believe. The first time I beat the game I think I only had them in their 60s, so it'll probably be easy as pie by the time I get to Sephiroth.
|
It will be, for sure. Make sure to do everything, like chocobo breeding and beating the Weapons.
|
I'm ashamed that I've never beaten Rudy or Emerald. I'm really going to try this time. I just hate being in a battle for 40 minutes and then getting killed. It's soul-crushing.
My first time beating the game was like that. I fought Sephiroth maybe 3-5 times in 30+ minute battles before I finally beat him. |
If you're prepared, Emerald Weapon is a joke. A total joke.
Ruby was a bit of a challenge for me, though, but I still got him on my first try. Knights of the Round is a must, as are Ultimate Weapons, and the Final Attack and Phoenix/Life 2 combo. |
I'll be more prepared this time than I ever have been while fighting them. You can pair Counter with magic and summons (KOTR really), right?
I still need to get Phoenix, but that's pretty much my next move. I have a mastered Restore (or nearly mastered, I at least have Regen and Cure 3). I know there's some material I've neglected that I should still level up, but I've got mastered Fire, Ice, Poison, Restore, several Alls, a handful of summons are leveled up to at least half way, Counter, leveling up Ultima now, and a buttload of other stuff. I don't have any Ultimate Weapons yet, but I've got Cloud and Vincent with their level 3 limits, Barrett with his level 4. They're my main party, but right now Cid is subbing for Cloud. |

Never beaten the one by gold saucer though Also, I like to get one of my character's HP ending in "77" and then use potions and **** to give him lucky 7's. Unnecessary, yes, but fun to do at least once |

SotC
For real man it's an incredible game. Ico, which was released before it by the same team of people, is amazing also. Two essential games for anyone with a PS2. I picked up the collector's copy of Ico second hand for about $10, but had to fork out the full $100 for the limited edition Shadow Of The Colossus. Worth every cent. Did that team of guys ever follow up with another game? |
I fell out of a plane today.

 After today, I've decided, for sure, that the $3k in my savings will be spent on taking the classes and 25 jumps to become a licensed jumper. It's so much fun. |
