Blood has been shed.. I know they're not technically metalcore, but they've gt some metalcore parts.
I thought they were metalcore, and decent band by the way.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:18 PM

I've always thought of them more as a tech metal band. Like meshuggah or something.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:20 PM

Metalcore can be technical, look at BTBAM.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:21 PM

I didn't say etalcore can't be technical, BHBS just doesn't strike me as a metalcore band. But I'm probably wrong.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:23 PM

Word, the big world of genre classification is confusing and scary at first.

But yeah, Everything I Touch Falls To Pieces is a lot better than I remember.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:24 PM

Not to mention stupid. Most great bands covers several genres, or at least plays a little with more than one.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:25 PM

Well clearly, but classifications make things nice and easy for recommendation purposes.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:27 PM

True, but I hate when people limits a band to saying like "that's metalcore" or something like that. Classifications are good as long as they doesn't overshadow the band.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:29 PM

Just being general about things is fine too, sometimes things are a bit too meticulous.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:32 PM

Yeah but that still doesn't justify simplifying a band by saying that's that and so on.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:35 PM

So basically you just contradicted yourself and I didn't point it out because I was being nice.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:35 PM

I did?

Wait yeah I did. Let's say it like this then... I find BHBS to have more tech metal influences in them than metalcore although I won't deny the obvious metalcore parts in them.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 02:36 PM

Wouldn't you like to know?

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:38 PM

I edited my latest reply

Valhall 12-22-2007 02:39 PM

Blood Has Been Shed is metalcore and is decent.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:39 PM

Yes, they are very good

Valhall 12-22-2007 02:41 PM

Decent, IMO. Very good is stretching it a bit.

Sethcanes 12-22-2007 02:42 PM

Nah I think they are very good. That's my opinion though.

TimJim 12-22-2007 05:35 PM

decent

illpressureurhinges1 12-22-2007 07:12 PM

They have a few good songs but nothing too special. They're just good because they have Howard.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 07:18 PM

His vocals aren't too good on that CD.

illpressureurhinges1 12-22-2007 07:26 PM

Which one?

i am the robots 12-22-2007 07:31 PM

Spirals

Valhall 12-22-2007 07:31 PM

Spirals.

//beaten

illpressureurhinges1 12-22-2007 07:32 PM

O. Well I've only heard a couple songs and I didn't think he sounded too bad. But either way, he's still much better with KSE.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 07:41 PM

He just sounds amazing because of the production on The End Of Heartache, he sounds a lot closer to how he did in Blood Has Been Shed live, he's an alright vocalist, decent screaming, decent singing, great technique, but just kind of boring.

illpressureurhinges1 12-22-2007 07:42 PM

Yah I guess. I guess I just like him because I love KSE.

LifeInABox 12-22-2007 07:48 PM

Because you are much better, amirite, Mappy?

Valhall 12-22-2007 07:49 PM

Mappy can't clean sing for **** though, amirite?

He's a hell of a harsh vocalist though.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 07:49 PM

He's a lot more technical and has loads more experience, and he can actually sing clean.

I'm just saying his vocals are boring noob.

When I sing clean it's like As Cities Burn, not very good. :/

LifeInABox 12-22-2007 07:50 PM

lol

Dimmu Burger 12-23-2007 07:07 AM

I look forward to them doing another BHBS record. I think I'll enjoy Howard's vocals more now because i'm sure they'll have money for better production and he has gotten a lot better since then. I didn't like his vocals all that much before KsE. His clean vocals were pretty weak.

Valhall 12-23-2007 02:19 PM

Yea, they were. It took me a while to appreciate his voice in BHBS because I had heard KsE before that.

illpressureurhinges1 12-23-2007 02:22 PM

Same here. But I learned to like his vocals on BHBS.

Valhall 12-23-2007 02:23 PM

After the last KsE album, I'll appreciate anything.... :upset:

illpressureurhinges1 12-23-2007 02:29 PM

You really thought it was that bad?

Valhall 12-23-2007 02:30 PM

The music itself was not technically bad. However, it was the most boring, un-heavy, and uncatchy KsE to date.

illpressureurhinges1 12-23-2007 02:35 PM

I agree with the un-heavy part, but I thought it was pretty catchy. Especially songs like My Curse, Daylight Dies, and For You.

Valhall 12-23-2007 02:38 PM

My Curse and Daylight Dies were annoyingly unmelodic. Especially My Curse....god I hate that ****ing song.

I did like This is Absolution.

illpressureurhinges1 12-23-2007 02:40 PM

I personally enjoy just about every song on that album. My favorite is Eye Of The Storm though.
