ghettoeddo 02-10-2006 10:39 PM

i'd have to say lines in the sand is my current least favorite.
too long and boring for me.
either that or the test that stumped them all. i can't stand it for some reason.

Mr.Metalton 02-11-2006 12:09 AM

I dont know i like a lot of DT songs i really dont like Honor thy father actually. Its the only song i dont like listening to.

Jev 02-11-2006 07:21 AM

I quite like I Walk Beside You but it'd be better if it was replaced with In The Name of God, I agree with that.

ghettoeddo 02-11-2006 01:17 PM

yea honor thy father is my least fave off of ToT

Jev 02-11-2006 01:49 PM

It's a bit angsty and childish. It's one of the reasons I don't like Portnoy's lyrics too much

nowitzki 02-11-2006 02:17 PM

Has anyone heard any of Jordan's solo material? I'm tempted to get Rhythm of Time.

bwnstl 02-11-2006 02:17 PM

Yeah, I like it considerably better than his material with DT.

Dimebag Johnny Patton 02-11-2006 03:33 PM

Does anyone know when DT are releasing their new "four hour long" dvd?
I can't wait.

Clunge 02-11-2006 04:14 PM

Advise me.

I have Images And Words, Train Of Thought and Octavarium, each of which I love.

Which album should I get next?

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance or Awake. It will take a little while for Awake to grow on you, but it's arguable their best album. 6DOIT, on the other hand, is fantastic right from the get go, and is also one of their best.

Get 'Scenes From a Memory.' You have the best albums, but not without SFAM. From start to finish, SFAM is a mind-blowing concept album. After that, then I would get 'A Change of Seasons.'

bwnstl 02-11-2006 05:08 PM

Oh wow, I forgot SFAM, I'm stupid. Yes, get that one, and THEN get Awake or 6DOIT

Clunge 02-11-2006 05:56 PM

:chug: Many thanks. Can't believe I went so long without knowing of DT.

If I am thinking of the same DVD you are, it hasnt been filmed yet. Its being filmed April 1st. Not sure when it will be released though.

How do you know it's not an April fools joke? :p

It better not be. I spent $350 on tickets.

Wow, thats pricey... How many did you buy?

It probably isn't a joke, they aren't Tool...

3 tickets. One for me, one for my cousin and one for my dad (my dad loves DT).

HNLzero 02-11-2006 07:46 PM

I'll be totally satisfied if they play Learning to Live in Boston.

Be better if they played Take The Time :dribble:

Mr_Bounce 02-12-2006 05:57 AM

I listen to Octavarium, and, yes, it's a masterpiece as usual, but it just doesn't seem as great as I thought in my mind it would be. Of course, many random parts of the tracks are near-ORGASMIC, but still. Maybe I'm crazy ::wave:

Jev 02-12-2006 05:58 AM

It was better than I expected. Much better.

Clunge 02-12-2006 08:17 AM

Octavarium in the space of about a month, has become one of my all-time favourite albums.

Every song is immense.

temporary 02-12-2006 09:57 AM
I like the song, but its not great. Its tied with 6:00 as my least favorite DT song.
Meh, I like 6:00. Honor Thy Father is definitly one of my least favorite DT songs.

Lord Abortion 02-12-2006 10:47 AM

I love the drumbeat at the beginning of honour thy father.
And the "Don't cross the crooked step!" part.

it's probably the worst song on ToT though...well bar stream of conciousness. But it's just because I don't like instrumentals much.

Duman 02-12-2006 10:58 AM

I second that completely, it is my favorite DT album, followed closely by Images And Words. A Change Of Seasons is definitely worthy of its own EP and is probably my favorite DT song.

SOC was my favourite. That drum solo and Guitar solo = :dribble:

Thanks. :)

I'm listening to that Zeppelin meddly a lot lately. "The Rover" just has the coolest riff.

Jev 02-12-2006 12:30 PM

I didn't like the Zeppelin covers. The Deep Purple one was brilliant though.

GenuineImitation 02-12-2006 12:32 PM

I like the Queen and Kansas covers the best. The Zeppelin and Deep Purple covers are pretty good also.

Lord Abortion 02-13-2006 08:31 AM

Yeah, I preferred the Elton John and Deep Purple covers on ACOS.

Mr.Metalton 02-13-2006 07:22 PM

The Iron Maiden covers were my favorite

Ace_of_Bass2112 02-14-2006 06:14 AM

March 18. congress theater. i am going to go see DT for the very first time.

i feel as giddy as a little school girl

Jev 02-14-2006 08:13 AM

Hopefully my band will be covering Afterlife at an upcoming gig :D

nowitzki 02-14-2006 08:29 AM

Just watched the When Dream and Day Reunite DVD for the first time. Its great, well worth getting hold of, the solo duel between Sherinian, Rudess and Petrucci is just

Jev 02-14-2006 08:29 AM

I'm too poor for DVDs :(

Lord Abortion 02-14-2006 04:32 PM

I need the reunite one, it's only YTSE records, I take it?
