Those stickers are really awesome good rats!

Now comes the portion of the thread where all of you experienced spray paint users laugh at me.

I know that you have to hold the can kind of far away, but I didn't. I've learned my lesson. :(

Yeah. Here's how it looked on a shirt.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/asdf23/Stencils/Zappashirt.jpg

I definitely need some practice with spraypaint. I also need some spray on adhesive.

Jon 06-09-2006 02:14 PM

Oi Eran, you coming to Finsbury Park tomorrow?
http://www.reknaw.com/#bsf

UK Subs free gig :)

POINTLESS5448 06-09-2006 03:45 PM

the shirt looks good as do those stickers.
asdf: you though you learned the hard way? bct learned the hard way. ill take pictures of it next time im at his house. he tried spraying his clockwork stencil on the back of this orange jacket and the white wasnt showing up so he just drenched it. destroyed the jacket... inside and out.

I'll delete this post in a couple of hours:

I was thinking of coming, but there's a protest tommorow evening which is too good to miss. If it turns out to be boring, however, I'll try and make it, though the protest starts at 7.30.

Yeesh, that really sucks :(

Yeah, the crappy stencil I did doesn't really matter, because I'm putting it on a wall in my basement, which is set up specifically for me to just do whatever I want. Some of its' been good, some of it is not, but it's all learning experience at this point.

POINTLESS5448 06-09-2006 08:23 PM

thats sweet. i have like 5 big *** ramps to tag all my **** on. not as cool as a wall, but whatev. me and brett are going to paint one all white and then put only the good stencils on it. when will that happen? probably never but who knows.

Ahah, we all have to start somewhere.

When you spray make sure you shake up the can REALLY well before you use it. And hold the can like...a foot or more away from the stencil..

If I've got nothing else to do today I'll make a video.

After i get done the stencil im doing now, i want to do a Joe Strummer shirt. Does anyone know where i can get a stencil of him. This is the best one i can find: http://www.stencilrevolution.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=49509&si=joe%20strummer

Should i just cut out the black parts same with stencil punks.

Also what does Bolivian flag have to do with joe strummer. Does it stand for freedom or something. The reason im asking is cause behind the picture i want to put that flag, cause ive seen it with him in every picture i have seen of him.

coheneran 06-11-2006 06:24 AM

Maybe he likes ayahuasca.

Try making your own stencil for it instead of finding one already made...

it's not that hard. Check the tutorials on SR. It helped me.

This is the stencil i made of Joe Strummer. Would you be able to tell that it was him??

How do you cut out detailed stuff. like really tight lines, and sharp curves. I ended up using a thumb tack and pressing holes, so there are tiny little rips.

Also im using that freezer paper as suggested on Stencil Punks. i was wondering, can you re-use it. cause i want to test it, but i wont if i can only use it once.

Jon 06-11-2006 04:05 PM

Oi Eran did you go in the end?

I was blacked out for 3 1/2 hours, but the second the Subs came on I jumped up, ran past the paramedics and got to the stage just in time.

Please PLEASE let me know of any more punk festivals/anomolies, that was the most fun I've had in ages (what I remember of it anyway)

No, I had a shitty protest to go to. I didn't know it was gonna be shitty until I got there though.

This one was complicated! It was like a treasure hunt, we had to go from place to place, it didn't work out in the end.

Yeah, see, I got drunk and saw the UK Subs and met lots of hot punk girls, I think we know who got the better deal :p

But yeah, you HAVE to inform me about these punk things, it made such a nice change from going clubbing.

I'm working on a stencil of Brak as a flag to hang up at Bonnaroo so that our camp will be identifiable. Unfortunately, It's going quite miserably, and I don't have all the colors I need.

Yea that looks pretty good.

What did you use to cut it? The sharper the blade you use, the easier and more detailed you can make the stencil. Go to an art store and look for an X-acto blade.

the last one is dark. get over it. i dont have good lighting in my room.
it isnt the best shirt ive made but it came out alright. the words didnt stay down when i was spraying but the underspray wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be when i was doing it.

Ghostfire3 06-11-2006 10:55 PM

Looks pretty cool.

good rats 06-12-2006 04:21 AM

Thats pretty good pointless.

So did you just use normal spray paint on it...? Or some kind of spray fabric paint?

POINTLESS5448 06-12-2006 05:07 AM

its just normal spraypaint. i used a different brand thought because my mom bought it for me. it didnt come off my hands as fast as the one i usually use does so im hoping that means it wont come off the shirt more.

Jon 06-12-2006 06:08 AM

Any ideas of how to get grass-stains out of my jeans without washing out the permanant marker and gold marker?

coheneran 06-12-2006 06:53 AM

Incorporate the stains into a new drawing. Usually, grass stains come out in a normal wash.

Jon 06-12-2006 08:05 AM

But so will my GBH stencil and Dead Boys lyrics :(

I guess I'll have to just write them on again.

Here's the final result of my bootleg Brak. It's very obviously bootleg, because I didn't have all the colors I needed. I also had to do a lot of touching up.
