Yeah, imagine that... A nice vocal medley between the three best vocalists.
Hey, it would definitely work. I loved Passenger.
Shit, why not just throw Chino in there too? :thumb:

Give them each an octave to cover, and try for some insane harmony

Syncratic 04-24-2005 01:06 PM

Yeah...just thinking about that is kicking ***.
Give them each an octave to cover, and try for some insane harmony
Chino = Lower octave
Maynard = Mid-to-high octave
Trent = Weird vocal effects with delay and stuff
Patton = I dunno

Kage 04-24-2005 01:14 PM

I think Chino would be more suited for a higher ocatve...he sings pretty high.

Kage 04-24-2005 01:14 PM

Patton could do the low, and Reznor/Maynard could take care of mid-ranged stuff

The JoZ 04-24-2005 01:16 PM

Whatever :p

I think we can all agree that such a collaboration would be super sexy

Best not be hoping to do it live then. He fails 9/10 to hit those notes

It could probably be an ego fest too.

Although im sure even Chino would feel giddy in such company

Eh, I don't know about that. He's gotten a lot better, I've noticed.
Shit, why not just throw Chino in there too? :thumb:
Hell yes. That song made me realize the potential of Chino. I thought he was just as good as Maynard. It was an extremely good duet.

Kage 04-24-2005 01:19 PM

True. Their voices work really well together.

/listens to Passenger

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:19 PM

Chino would do background

Maynard would take the main hook.chorus

Reznor the verses

can't comment on patton as i haven't heard him...
Eh, I don't know about that. He's gotten a lot better, I've noticed.
I guess the two times I saw him are a bad precedent to go by. One at a festival where he looked tanked up more than normal. The second at Wembely with the worst sound ever.

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-24-2005 01:21 PM

Hey, I think this may have been brought up before. But would you guys think that a trip-hop group would be a great opening for Tool? You know, something softer like Massive Attack or Portishead to lead up to some heavy prog rock in Tool. I'd love it.

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:21 PM

Was the wembley gig when apc were supporting?

Adam Jones is GOD 04-24-2005 01:22 PM
Was the wembley gig when apc were supporting?
Yeah. their sound was awesome, like it was straight from the record.

Then some idiot turns up everything waaay too much for the Deftones.

Oh, man they have off days without a doubt. I've seen footage where they're almost falling apart. But every show I've been to and the majority of the videos I've seen have been awesome. The second performance I went to last October was incredible.

Kage 04-24-2005 01:23 PM
It could probably be an ego fest too.

Apparently Reznor has no ego at all, and I don't really understand the crack about Chino.

/half sarcasm

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:24 PM

Meh I love white pony, but don't feel as much love for around the fur...Passenger is quality...

Some of their stuff would be tough live...

I can't say, cause I've never heard MA or Portishead...but I have a feeling the two fanbases would feel alienated somehow...

Kage 04-24-2005 01:24 PM

Around the Fur took a while to grow on me, but now it's my favorite Deftones album. White Pony is what originally got me into them.

Yeah, but i think that will ahppen with alot of bands

The only band i think could successfully support are Nin..with both fan bases being happy...

Adrenaline - Pumped up, straight up hard rock

Around The Fur - has their best songs on, and their worst too.

White Pony - All round solid record, but some songs lack

Deftones -

New Album - Big hopes, but more interest into what direction they've gone

Im still up for the Tool/Opeth joint tour myself.

And someone called me pessamistic....

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:27 PM

You failed to comment on the S/T...just informing you :p

I probably should check out adrenaline and s/t

I just can't get into Deftones. I can't get into it.

I think Opeth and Tool would be a nice compatable tour.

Edit: Didn't see the AJIG post where he mentioned this, my bad. This thread is movin' pretty fast.
Amazing. This board is just a haven for Nirvana-hating.
Sorry bro, but he could have named so many singers that showed a great deal of emotion, and he chose Cobain. That's worthy of a thrashing.

Kage 04-24-2005 01:30 PM
There was no typo my friend
Ha. That's my second favorite from them.

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:31 PM

But if he thinks cobain shows emotion, why shouldn't he be allowed to express his view? By all means express yours but do not devalue his like that.

Huber 04-24-2005 01:31 PM

AiC and Tool would be an awesome tour. I wish that could happen.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-24-2005 01:32 PM
Ha. That's my second favorite from them.
I just cant get into it. Minerva was great, could have been straight off White Pony. however, its too lazy at points, or Chino's voice isnt with the song. I've tried several times, but I still dont get it.

clearvision 04-24-2005 01:33 PM

Hmm, I've been digging dirt lateley, some great songs Rooster, Would?, Angry chair, Rain when i die, Dam that river, Them bones..but the rest is mediocre imo...

Kage 04-24-2005 01:34 PM

Interesting...in my opinion Chino's vocals meld with the song the best of any album on that one. yes, it is lazy at points, the band has even admitted that, but I still think it's a beautiful piece of work. The keyboards are fantastic.
