nope, that sounds cool though.

As for him on the Some Kind of Monster DVD, I think that metallica shouldn't have released it to the public, especially without james being there, if they had something to say to him they should have done it in private.
agreed
but you no the dvd i was talking about megadeth behing the music
yer well he talks about how megadeth was a revenge band n how he was kicked out was more worse then when his dad went into acoma and died
i felt sorry for him he looked as if he was going to cry
(has anyone watched the documentery on megadeth on vh1 behind the music:confused: )
Apparently that was edited to make Dave look bad. Apparently Lars was even more closer to tears but of course they didn't show that.

Britton 11-01-2005 02:28 AM

That's funny

I can totaly see him crying

does anyone know where I can finnd that>?

Ostrich Man 11-01-2005 02:38 AM
Good idea. But don't be put off if you don't like Killing Is My Business. the 2nd album's nothing like it, but in a good way.
That's true.

KIMB was poor studio quality cos the band blew most of their budget on drugs...

I prefer their later albums.

Britton 11-01-2005 02:41 AM

Did they do lots of drugs?

Apocalyptic Raids 11-01-2005 02:56 AM

Yes.

Ostrich Man 11-01-2005 03:02 AM

While a member of Metallica as lead gutarist:

"Dave was an incredibly talented guy, but he also had an incredibly large problem with alcohol and drugs"
"He'd get wasted and become a real crazy person, a raging maniac, and the other guys just couldn't deal with that after a while. I mean, they all drank of course, but I guess they could all hold their liquor better than Dave, and I could see they were beginning to get fed up of seeing Dave drunk out of his mind all the time."
- Brain Slagel

So they fired him.

Also, after recording "So Far, So Good...So What?" Mustaine underwent drug rehab, and the band disbanded for a bit in 1988.

So yeah just a few drug problems.

superdigg 11-01-2005 03:47 AM
what did you guys think of mustaine in the some kind of monster documentary?
he was a blubbering little girly-man, but then so was everyone else in that documentary. that scene where lars keeps yelling "f*ck!" was priceless.

.:Thrasher:. 11-01-2005 04:18 AM
Did they do lots of drugs?
well in the doc i bought of megadeth behind the music by the second album gars n nick poland were pawning all there stuff cause they were about flat broke so thats why dave fired them and on other reasons
also dave and david were flat broke and had HUGE money problems
he was a blubbering little girly-man, but then so was everyone else in that documentary. that scene where lars keeps yelling "f*ck!" was priceless.
that was the best
he is the only person who can piss of james:lol:

Apocalyptic Raids 11-01-2005 04:19 AM

Its Chris Poland, and Mustaine fired him for stealing his guitars.

.:Thrasher:. 11-01-2005 04:33 AM
Its Chris Poland, and Mustaine fired him for stealing his guitars.
oh s hit did i call him nick sorry
anyway so was it chris and mustain who fired him
yea then later on chris got fired cause he started pawning to and the drugs which were sending them to bankrupcy

Jev 11-01-2005 10:32 AM

Hence the song "Liar"

And vice Versa, I love it. I've seen the behind the music of them and I love how James told Lars, "Do you want to hear the lyrics, then go F**king sing it."

Jev 11-01-2005 01:08 PM

I wouldn't be so sure, James and Lars seem like pretty angry people.
I wouldn't be so sure, James and Lars seem like pretty angry people.
All the more inspiration to write angry music. You know that you're making great angry music when the guitarist(s) are regularly breaking strings and the drummer is replacing drum heads left and right. :thumb:

That just means you have terrible technique.

Yeah, the whole therepy was like 2 hours long. And it was edited to make it look like Lars wasnt really affected by Dave leaving. And yes Lars left the session crying, but that didn't get shown. I would kill to see that whole session without editing.

Yeah, same here. I wanna see Lars cry for his horrible drumming in St. Anger.

I can understand why Dave still wanted to be in Metallica, but he actually formed a better (as far as technicality goes) band so he should just be happy with that.

yeah, lars should be shot with a sound as loud as his awful snare in st anger.

and boy could i argue about technicality but since this is a megadeth thread i'll zip the lip lol. i love both bands, and i hate to see people argue about which is better. just go your own ways and don't cross other people's paths.

Yeah, one quote that stuck out for me was when dave said "Seeing everything you [metallica] touch turn to gold, and everything I touch turn to shit". I thought, WTF?, Megadeth are like one of the highest reguarded thrash/metal bands. I would never think of Megadeth as an inferior (sp?) band to metallica in any way IMO (well maybe a little in record sales but whatever), and it seemed he was being a little harsh on himself.

Well too each his own, but I found it much more difficult to play stuff off of RIP than MOP or RTL combined.

Chu 11-01-2005 04:15 PM

It's slowly turning into the Metallica Underground thread :p

it's true about reputations though. you ask someone on the streets who metallica is probably 98% of people will know them. megadeth....wayyyy less. and its not as if megadeth is that much worse of a band, its just the issue of who makes more popular music.

I kinda know what you mean. Like if some R n' B whole from school asks what I'm listening to and I say metallica they are like "Oh, like Enter Sandman", but if I say Megadeth they are like :amaze:

Father_Jack 11-01-2005 04:19 PM

Again this isn't a popular way of looking at it, but its partly due to the post-black album era. if you said to a random person in the street "Creeping Death", they probabily wouldn't know it was metallica, but if you said "Enter sandman", most would know it's metallica.

I couldn't see most people recognising a megadeth song title.
It's slowly turning into the Metallica Underground thread :p
It does that a lot I guess. I guess this is what happens when a guy leaves a famous band to start another really awesome band. You can't really talk about one band and not the other.:)

Apocalyptic Raids 11-01-2005 06:13 PM

Enough with the fucking Metallica discussion. Seriously.

Britton 11-01-2005 06:26 PM

I know it's a MegaDeth thread for Dave Mustaines sake

lightningmetal666 11-01-2005 06:33 PM
I know it's a MegaDeth thread for Dave Mustaines sake
Well then someone speak about Megadeth then. I'm out of ideas.

Here's a shot:

Anyone managed to learn all of Peace Sells or Symphony of Destruction?

I can do all of the rhythm to SOD but the solo give me a little bit of trouble.:upset:

RustedPieces 11-01-2005 06:46 PM

I can do all the rythms for those two songs but I don't know the leads.

metalmilitia101 11-01-2005 09:46 PM

never tried em, will check em out

.:Thrasher:. 11-01-2005 11:24 PM

yea there alright songs i love them but a fun and cool to jam with song to play would be holywars

FatalEnergy 11-02-2005 12:09 AM

I've been trying to find a good bass tab for "The Skull Beneath the Skin", because there is a lot of bass fills I can't hear them by ear because they are so fast.
