Yeah, I wouldn't put it past Madonna. Or any pop singer for that matter.
Heh it's not just pop you know, Jimmy Page made millions through it. |
OK, as of right now, I have The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here. I've found links for their entire Disco, I think so anyway...double check, and i was just wondering which one shoudl i get next if i like the cds in this order
The Wall DSOTM WYWH piper_at_the_gates_of_dawn 1967_-_the_first_singles a_saucerful_of_secrets early_singles 1969_-_more ummagumma_studio atom_heart_mother meddle relics obscured_by_clouds animals the_final_cut a_momentary_lapse_of_reason the_division_bell |
Animals, then maybe the Final Cut if you like the Wall a lot, then Meddle.
After Meddle, you should be ready for Piper. |
I would say Animals or Meddle, but as seen as The Wall is your favorite go for Animals and then maybe The Final Cut?
Or if you want a completely different take on the band, go for PATGOD or The Division Bell. |
Yeah, I third Animals.
|
I hate Animals. Don't listen to us, just dive right into Pink Floyd, that's how we all got into them.
|
i kina did when i bought Dark Side of the moon then i requested a classic/great album in DU and got WYWH and then i found the site that had workign links of all their cds so i'm good lol
|
Just pick random albums or maybe go chronologically and don't give up if some of it isn't that good. Trust me, you'll do fine.
Heh it's not just pop you know, Jimmy Page made millions through it.
so did the beatles. maybe thats for another thread. id say that the PF albums put forth are all good but animals is kind of the next biggest thing as far as floyd goes. it's certainly essential. |
i'm going with animals next ;)

I was just pointing out they hardly ever write their own songs, so stealings not a huge stretch. |

Ya because those are basically the same thing and go hand in hand. Idiot. |
Ya because those are basically the same thing and go hand in hand.
Idiot.
/busted by the pop police. I must say, post-The Wall Floyd seems to get a lot more love in this thread than it used to. |
Yeah ive found with alot of bands people start to like the more "obscure" stuff after a while, gives it time to grow on them. I remember hating albums from bands but after a while they become favourites.

Did Metallica pick Rick Rubin over you to produce their new album because St. Anger sounded like ass so much?

That was what we were going for, we all contributed, only the true fans will understand. Right now I made half of Metallicas albums, more than any other of their producers. St Anger was a statement, "We're old and alcohol isn't the answer" |
I still prefer your work on Little Caesar's self titled.
|
Hi guys, Bob Rock here
Your mother told me you have a Little Caesar |
I still prefer your work on Blue Murder's self titled.
|
Hi guys, Bob Rock here
I suggest you shut your trap. -Bob |
I STILL prefer your work on Kingdom Come's self titled.
EDIT: And Tal Bachman? Seriously Bob. |
I still prefer your work on Blue Murder's self titled.
Dude, what are you talking about? Slippery When Wet was Bob's production masterpiece. |
Hi guys, Bob Rock here
I think load and St Anger were my best masterpieces espiecally St anger I played the bass for that album imo. -Bob |
hey i know it might be a lil late but could someone please send me the audio for Live In Pompeii please?
I will give you much love :) Thanks in advance :) chris_tothill@hotmail.com |
Oh and where should i probably go next from Ummagumma? i dont really like the studio album although there are good bits, but the bit i love is the live album.
So where should i go? Forward to Atom Heart Mother and Meddle or back to Saucerful Of Secrets and Piper At The Gates of Dawn? P.S. i have everything beyond and including dark side im just looking at the older stuff now :) |
