Ice Cube doing should i stay or should i go? Wow
Most of the words are changed though.

guns_of_brixton 10-13-2005 08:46 PM

Mick did write alot of the music, but Joe certianly had music writing talent (w/ doing movie soundtracks and such). It seems that Mick wrote all of the songs he sand but Lost in the Supermarket.

CombatRock 10-13-2005 09:01 PM

JohnXDoesn't 10-14-2005 06:03 PM

Hang yourself. It's more punk then fruitloops.

AGAINSTME!'sbass 10-14-2005 06:29 PM

Umm....yeah hanging your self would be way better than fruitloops you'd be my hero!

AIRIC 10-14-2005 08:07 PM

I like Fruit Rings better than Fruitloops.

redstainedeyes 10-14-2005 08:08 PM

I cant believe the merits of hanging one's self vs the merits of frootloops are being discussed...in the Clash forum. For shame.

oh your so lucky!! For my birthday we are going to order me a pizza, since they ship.

Joe seems like one to hate pizza for some reason. I cant imagine joe eating pizza.

guns_of_brixton 10-15-2005 09:23 AM

Joe was a fish and chips guy.

I'm kind of confused with something... I'm not 100% that Topper recorded all the drums / percussion stuff on Combat Rock... can anybody help with this?

CombatRock 10-15-2005 09:41 AM

I think he recorded drums, he wrote all the Casbah and im preety sure he recorded all those parts him self, i could be way wrong though. Now think about it, i think im lying to yall.

guns_of_brixton 10-15-2005 09:43 AM

I'm pretty sure he only recorded the drums and pianner for Casbah, and yea, I bet he did all the drumming on Combat Rock.

BillyBonebrake 10-17-2005 05:56 AM

Hi. Um, does anyone here like Joe's solo stuff? I like it a lot. My favorites are Eartquake Weather and Streetcore. Streetcore is smooth and cool. And his cover of Redemption Song is really good. So what about you guys?

I like Streetcore, but that's about it for Joe's solo stuff. I've heard Golbal A Go-Go as well and I just didn't like it that much.

Scabies 10-17-2005 10:04 AM

I had a dream last night that i had to break the news of Strummer dying to Mick Jones. Weird.

AIRIC 10-17-2005 10:41 AM

You're probably Jesus.

BillyBonebrake 10-17-2005 05:34 PM
You're probably Jesus.
Punk Jesus instead of hippy Jesus? The world would of been a better place.

His solo stuff is great, somtimes i like it more than the Clash.
His solo stuff is great, somtimes i like it more than the Clash.
Yeah. On Streetcore it amazes me how different his voice sounds from when he was with the Clash. I mean he still sounds like Joe, but different. On some of the tracks I wouldn't even guess it was him. Or maybe it would sound vaguely familiar, but I still wouldn't guess him. He actually became a better singer all those years he was away. I like Ramshackle Day Parade and Silver And Gold off that album. I like all of it. But those two cuts stand out right now. How do you feel about Mick's old band, BAD. And how do some of you others feel about BAD, also.

CombatRock 10-17-2005 07:29 PM

My joke about BAD, is they sound like their name. Im not much for them.

white_riot 10-17-2005 09:45 PM

I have Streetcore and i think it is pretty good. I would really like to get another one of the meskies albums. BAD are not that bad. Their film clips are pretty cool.

CombatRock 10-18-2005 03:55 PM

Same here, the only Joe Strummer and the Meskie album i own is Streetcore, i would get another one but im broke, like always.

white_riot 10-19-2005 03:42 PM

Does anyone know anything about the other members in The Meskies and what they are doing now.

CombatRock 10-19-2005 06:49 PM

Nope, i cant even name one of the member haha.

white_riot 10-19-2005 07:15 PM

Isn't one guys name Tryonne Dogg or something like that. I don't really know.

CombatRock 10-20-2005 06:28 PM

Yea i think so, Tryonne Dog sounds very familiar. Stuid name by the way.
