god **** i cant even imagine how will that sound like :D

Brew 07-02-2005 05:12 PM

Yes, it will sound great

...

rippa32 07-03-2005 12:54 AM
I think a lot of metal bands do that.
I don't mean dubbing the rythm, if you listen carefully theres a second lead guitar playing on a few of his solos, its easy to tell which one wouldnt be played live(it doesnt happen the whole time) but its still annoying.

Brew 07-04-2005 11:41 AM

bump from page 4.

Guys, we really need to get started on recording our covers...even if they end up being instrumentals.

I want input from everyone on what songs we should do rather than just leaving me to choose them etc...

:)

shadow_stalker 07-04-2005 12:21 PM

I think you should do...

paranoid (obviously)
NIB
TV crimes
and finally something from the martin era, possibly black moon or headless cross.

But if it ends up being instrumental i think you should do wicked world, because that song is built for improvising and avoid doing things like paranoid (due to the fact that it is the same riff over and over)

comptonassrobert 07-04-2005 02:00 PM

/agrees 100% with shadowstalker.

NIB would be really fun do hear

Brew 07-04-2005 02:02 PM

I'd love to do TV Crimes but from what I remember, finding a bass tab was a bit of a bugger.

Aeaon 07-04-2005 02:26 PM

To me, it should some stuff from Paranoid and Master of Reality.

Brew 07-04-2005 02:28 PM

I'd only really do Paranoid from the Paranoid album, just because everyone will probably moan if we don't do it.

Kyle 07-04-2005 02:34 PM

I havn't posted here in ages so im sorry if this has already come up but:

DO you know if they have any plans to do a full UK tour (or at least a few big venues) any time soon? I would love it if they did the same thing with VR and BLS in the UK.

Brew 07-04-2005 02:44 PM

I'm not sure, Iommi wants to do a proper tour with the Sabs again sometime soon thats not an Ozzfest though.

That would be great, I really want to see them live.

rippa32 07-04-2005 10:31 PM

TV Crimes would be a great track to do, either that or I.
That would be great, I really want to see them live.
you see them once and you never have to again. Being a diehard Sabbath fan from EVERY era, it is upsetting to see them widdling away with Ozzy at the helm. Ive seen Sabbath since 97' and over the course of the 6 shows ive seen by them, only about 1-2 songs are taken out and replaced every tour not to mention brought back in the next time around. Ozzy can't do more than an hour on stage if he's lucky. Id like to see Sabbath tour with Dio, Hugues, or Martin.

rippa32 07-05-2005 12:36 AM

So would I, too bad Martin has vowed never to play with them again, and Dio wouldn't get along. As for Glenn Hughes well be seeing him for the tour of Iommi's new album. Hope they come to Australia (I doubt it though)

PrimalScream 07-05-2005 01:55 AM

i would pay anything to see a show with tony martin

rippa32 07-05-2005 02:43 AM

Hey, it's nice to see some more open minded people in these forums. Its a nice break from all those "Its not Sabbath without Ozzy" people.

*looks around with shifty eyes*

Brew 07-05-2005 10:26 AM

What would be great is a Sabbath SuperShow where all the various singers go on tour with the band and play a few songs each.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-05-2005 10:34 AM

^^^

that is a great idea actually. I started a Black Sabbath offical thread about a year ago and it never took off...its nice to see since i left n came back so many Sabbath fans have arrived! Just to show you all where i am at, heres a list i saved from teh old thread of my favourite songs per album:

Black Sabbath- wicked world, behind the wall of sleep, the wizard
Paranoid- faries wear boots, hand of doom, electric funeral
Master of Reality- after forever, lord of this world, children of the grave
Volume 4- under the sun, supernaut, wheels of confusion
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath- spiral architect, looking for today, killing yourself to live
Sabatoge- symptom of the universe, thrill of it all, the writ
Technical Ectasy- dirty women, gypsy, all moving parts
Never Say Die- hard road, shockwave, over to you
Heaven and Hell- children of the sea, heaven and hell, neon knights
Mob Rules- falling off the edge of the world, country girl, turn up the night
Born Again- trashed, digital bitch, keep it warm
Seventh Star- turn to stone, angry heart, in memory...
Eternal Idol- the shining, ancient warrior, glory ride
Dehumanizer- time machine, sins of the father, after all (the dead)
Headless Cross- devil & daughter, call of the wild, kill in the spirit world
TYR- jerusalem, anno mundi, the sabbath stones
Cross Purposses- back to eden, cross of thorns, I witness
Forbidden- rusty angels, forbidden, kiss of death

Ive owned all the albums for a number of years now...my favourite probley being Sabatoge still.

shadow_stalker 07-05-2005 10:44 AM

I remember that thread.

I agree with pretty much all of that list, I might do one of my own later.

Edit: Does anyone know what tuning they used on Master of Reality?

Children of the Grave sounds a bit odd in standard.

Edit2: Nevermind, I've just found it.

shadow_stalker 07-05-2005 11:37 AM

Here is another random sabbath cover, this time it is children of the grave by hellfueled

Who else thought Sabbath should've been at Live8?

Well, now there's at least 3 of us!

Brew 07-05-2005 02:08 PM
Who else thought Sabbath should've been at Live8?
I don't.

Why should they have been there?

Josh 07-05-2005 02:35 PM

the played the original Live Aid, but that's not really a reason. although it would have made the concert better if it had been The Who, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath headlining.

Titch: Mr Wilkinson likes Sabbath!

Brew 07-05-2005 02:36 PM

My Art teacher likes Sabbath and had Changes as her fav. song.

She only half-arsedly mentioned Paranoid aswell, which made me think

Josh 07-05-2005 02:47 PM

lol. i just didnt think Mr Wilkinson (physics teacher) would be into classic rock / metal, until we were talking about live8 in a lesson and he said he thought sabbath should have played.
