that's like wow
You like Bring Me The Horizon. |
I prefer someone screaming well than someone singing well. So does that mean you don't listen to anything but metal and hardcore retired ?
|
I listen to emo.
|
emo is hardcore.
|

Their new CD is surprisingly good compared to the others. That doesn't say much, but at least they have more of an original sound now. Not worth a buy, though. |
Converge is pretty good amirite?
|
hell yes, but theyve been talked about to death in this thread
np: grim heart / black rose watch out for my bad tastes, it has clean singing :p
You like Bring Me The Horizon.
you just said you dont like clean singing, im pretty sure your opinions been invalidated  |
I don't like clean singing in metalcore. I don't know if he meant it like that. Sometimes it can work but usually it makes the song fucking gay
|
a lot of cases, yeah, but poison the well does it well

I agree but Jesse Leach, Howard Jones, Phil Labonte, Jeffrey Moreira, and others CAN pull it off. It's just seems clean vocals in Metalcore usually have an emo influence which I tend to strongly dislike. Some bands can pull it off though and still have me like them. |
New Underoath has good "emo" cleans, but those came before the new album.
|
Yeah, Aaron Gillipsie can pull it off occasionally.
I believe more so in their latest release. |
Eh, it fits better on They're Only Chasing Safety tbh.
|
It fits in better with the light atmosphere in the album, but I still think they did a great job with vocals and instruments and songs like "To Whom it May Concern" and "Casting Such a Thin Shadow."
The only reason I liked those two songs is because they were progressive and not some poppy/poopy post-hardcore mess. |
eh, i like that album a lot, but like, theyre only chasing safety and the changing of times.
listen to the way spencer and aaron go back and forth in im content with losing. |
I dislike Spencer as a person, but he actually has a nice scream.
Compared to Dallas, he just doesn't deliver the awesome feel. "This Runs Through" was good though. |
spencer's a nice guy, i talked to him outside of croc rock last year.
why do you dislike him? do you have any this runs through material? ive been wanting to hear them for a while. also, dallas is better, yeah. such a good lyricist too. |
Every band member I've talked to has been a nice guy to me.
(Well, The Devil Wears Prada consists of jerks from what I saw.) There's just stuff about him I don't like. www.purevolume.com/thisrunsthrough As far as Dallas being a good lyricist goes, while I agree with the stuff off "Act of Depression", it was NOT well-written. |
