Seafroggys 12-21-2006 09:59 AM

holy crap I went to see Storm Large and the Balls last night, and it was probably one of the best shows I have ever went to. She was so good. And so damn beautiful. I'll post pics later.

Stickman Sam 12-21-2006 10:17 AM

...So, a tendon or something similar has gone in my left wrist, can't drum or play guitar. Or grip anything. Damn.

Retarded Chipple 12-21-2006 10:43 AM

I haven't been able to play or practice for the past week cos I've either been refinishing my kit or been occupied with other things...hardly the same as an injury....though my teacher won't be happy

I do keep getting twitches down my forearms (like in the wrist area) where it feels as though I can't make a fist or anything. Is hard to explain...

Nice pics Phil. The guy with the green kit has his toms real low yet still quite angled

Little Android Man 12-21-2006 10:47 AM

ive had those before... except with my leg/ thigh region...

Retarded Chipple 12-21-2006 10:58 AM
ive had those before... except with my leg/ thigh region...
Its really weird. When it happens it feels like I don't have tendons in my arms or something and thats why I can't curl my fingers. Stretching/bending my hands backwards normally makes it feel better

Drum Phil 12-21-2006 11:15 AM
Nice pics Phil. The guy with the green kit has his toms real low yet still quite angled
Yeah i thought that. Wasnt his kit mind.

Retarded Chipple 12-21-2006 11:19 AM

Fair enough...whoever set it up is at fault here then  Its a nice finish though, what kit is it?

Drum Phil 12-21-2006 11:21 AM

Pearl masters i think. It had optimounts so its either masters or session, i didnt get a chance to look.

Sounded like arse though due to loose heads and such.

Jody LeCompte 12-21-2006 11:23 AM

I sat on the rug, biding my time, drinking her wine

Then I lit a fire, isn't it good, Norwegion Wood.

Ack, wrong verse :(

the_pure_drummer 12-21-2006 11:51 AM

Ok^

I drummed really well today for some reason,

I worked through a page of stick control in the triplets section.
I played trough alot of songs with some improv.
And to finish of i was rather creative and play a paradiddle groove between the ride bell cowbell hi hat snare and ride if that makes any sense.

I would write i down but i dont know how to :(

Anyone know how to?

How the hell did you get through a whole page? I can get through like half a column in 3 hours!!! I do each exercise on 20 times for each tempo, starting at 60bpm moving up 5bpm until I'm going as fast as I can... (like do it 20 times at 60, then 20 times at 65 etc)

Jody LeCompte 12-21-2006 12:03 PM
So what song is that?
Your kidding right?

Norwegian Wood by the Beatles.

Josiah 12-21-2006 12:20 PM

You know there are like over 2 million published songs, it's quite possible for someone to not be aware of 1 or 2 of them....

the_pure_drummer 12-21-2006 12:27 PM

Thanks jo ;)

Ohhhh i dont do it like that sorry. I worked at each exercise 20 times give or take a few at 60bpm.

By the way it took me ages because i was on the last page of triplets were theyre 2 lines an exercise which was cool.

Win A Rabbit 12-21-2006 12:28 PM

I just made another shirt. It turned out awesome. It was my first 2-stencil one, and the gap between the 2 was just the tiniest bit bigger than I wanted, but it still turned out great. I love making shirts.

Oh I see, so you go through it all at 60 bpm? Makes sense why you got through so fast!

Haha word, Stick Control takes a long time to go through properly, but the rewards are worth it!!

Also Stone said at least 20 times. 40 is better.

I like to tell people to go by column and change the click up a lil between excerises. Not nearly as daunting in that fashion.
