i mastered a game that's like sort of liek a fighter but u dont play other ppl and the fighting system isnt the only emphasis of the gaem so like i could totally master the dynamics of fighterz but they're obviously button masherz

if anyone tries to button mash in SF or marvel vs capcom i just rape them. only people that don't know how to play do that. it doesn't work against people that are any good.

you can button mash in mortal kombat and get away with it more. or you can just keep sweep kicking people which is a really cheap technique a lot of people use. i can get around it (i'm decent at MK 1, 2 and 3) but that game is pretty cheap. it's so unbalanced and has such a shallow fighting system it's not very fun.

playing guitar in my bedroom is basically the same as playing a live show with a band

if you take the time to learn a character in a fighting game you will beat opponents much faster because your hits and blocks will have a planned rhythm, rather than a random slurr of idiocy

for the challenge. i love playing sf and mvc against erik, kevin and nick cause they're all pretty good. the fights get pretty intense and it gets exciting. fighting a skilled oponent is a great rush. so much better than a comp. so many more variations etc.

EDIT: mitch i saw the new york dolls in 2009, it was a pretty good punk show.

i think brent doesn't like fighting games because he doesn't understand the fighting systems and can't pull off any special moves or combos so he just gets frustrated and gives up. then he dismisses them as "stupid" because he doesn't know how to play.

fighting games take practice. you have to figure out your character's strenghts and weaknesses and have a strategy. if you just button mash and don't know how to play of course they aren't fun.

you just jerk it at different speeds depending on genre

you can't win doing that kind of stuff. you have to have a strategy and know when to use the special moves or they're worthless.

Nation States is the best fighting game by far.
