Hey, I have no opinions at all so I need to borrow some.

What kind of strings should I get?

oh, yeah, forgot to mention I have no price limit, and I want some nice long lasting bright sounding strings. If they could have some low end growl as well I would probably cry a little. And no Elixers, I dont want beards on my strings :thumb:

Omega Red 01-25-2005 11:51 PM

fodera

Omega Red 01-25-2005 11:52 PM

or ritter if you have a low B ona a 34 inch scale make sure you get .130 or more

coddingtown 01-25-2005 11:54 PM

Nah, its 4 string. Ive never even seen fodera strings. They are pretty good then?

Omega Red 01-26-2005 12:06 AM

what kind of quality do you think of when you hear fodera??

coddingtown 01-26-2005 12:07 AM

Well to my experience a good bass company does not neccessarily mean good strings

coddingtown 01-26-2005 12:14 AM

Oh, Musiciansfriend has to carry them too, since I have a gift certificate. They dont carry fodera

Well elixirs have that coating on them too, and I have heard from lots of people that they sound great, but the coating peels off after a while if you slap or pick and sort of hangs off the string in little white strips. I sort of thought it would look like a beard

irishslappop 01-26-2005 12:51 AM

lol, looks like Rufus, no pickups, no knobs. nice color those i like that.

irishslappop 01-26-2005 12:55 AM

looks like the guy played awhole lot more on E the B (owns a 4 string)

coddingtown 01-26-2005 12:55 AM

Blizz what make is that, and why is it incomplete?

irishslappop 01-26-2005 12:56 AM

so coddintown, how your beautiful wonder bass goin, what kinda amp u playing it though?

blizzard 01-26-2005 12:57 AM

its incomplete because i bought it from Ebay for $80 AUD. You have to try and guess the make (manufacturer will do)

coddingtown 01-26-2005 12:57 AM

Call me stupid, but Ive never seen a zero fret before, Whats it do?

blizzard 01-26-2005 12:58 AM

makes the open string sound like a fretted note, its the first one i've seen in real life.

coddingtown 01-26-2005 12:58 AM
so coddintown, how your beautiful wonder bass goin, what kinda amp u playing it though?
;) thank you. Its going great. I really want to get some nice strings though so I can hear its sound potential. Im playing it through a 200w ampeg combo

coddingtown 01-26-2005 01:00 AM

Ahh, thats a pretty cool idea. Id imagine it would wear down a lot faster than the other frets though.

No idea whatsoever what brand it is. I could tell you which brands it isnt though :p

blizzard 01-26-2005 01:01 AM

its a common brand its just kind of rare, its also a signature model
