I don't know, I laughed when I first heard Jon's voice too.

I think the idea of hearing someone's voice who I know from the internet makes me laugh.
Ha, yeah.

You wouldn't happen to know what Jon uses for his podcasts, would you?

Fish 12-15-2005 07:47 PM

hows your band coming?

Gnarmageddon 12-15-2005 07:48 PM

Where'd you download it? Was it free?

Mute Print 12-15-2005 07:50 PM

I know Jon has told me a bunch of times what he uses, but I can't remember. I'd tried finding it in this thread, but no luck.

If I had a mic, I would make an awesome podcast.

If I had a mic, a good podcast program thing, I would make an all Canadian podcast.

Don't worry, I'd be sure to dedicate a song to you.

I saw Terror!

And Canada has a lot of amazing unnoticed pop-punk bands. Have you ever heard of Underground Operations, the record label? The biggest band on it is Protest the Hero. But anyways, every band on it is Canadian and I love all of them!

billiejoe84 12-15-2005 07:58 PM
hows your band coming?
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10746568&postcount=63236 - Read, and all will be revealed.

Spence: I got Nero 6 Ultra Edition (which has SoundTrax in it) off Limewire. So yes, it was free. I think if you got it elsewhere it's probably cost a fair bit though.

Fish 12-15-2005 07:58 PM

I've never heard of the label, but Protest the Hero is a cool band.
*waits for brians podcast*
One of these days I'll get a mic.

I could put together an all Canadian podcast too. Most of it would be Vancouver Hardcore though.

Ahahaha. I love inducing jealousy.

Not that it happens very much :upset:

I think I might get into bed and read for a bit now. And then, sleep. Me mighty tired.

B 12-15-2005 08:08 PM

I whored Protest for about a week or so Zack. They're pretty sweet. I saw them in October with Bombs Over Providence, Man With Target, Ghost Of Modern Man, and Silverstein.

That's cool. I can recomend some amazing Canadian pop-punk bands. YouthInAsia, Closet Monster (Who sadly broke up), Protest the Hero, The Brat Attack, Hostage Life, Dead Letter Dept., and Bombs Over Providence. Another amazing Canadian band, even though they're not pop-punk is Mare.

Other big named bands are Silverstein, Alexisonfire, Sum41, and Billy Talent.

Mute Print 12-15-2005 08:10 PM

You forgot Simple Plan... :p

B 12-15-2005 08:11 PM

And Avril Lavigne :p

Pazz 12-15-2005 08:12 PM

You guys posted a lot in an hour.

I'm still trying to get my podcast fixed so I can put it up. I don't think it will be happening because I can't get it into a MP3 file. Nothing seems to work.

ZaaR 12-15-2005 08:14 PM

Well, all those bands I mentioned are amazing. You should check them all out if you're interested in new pop-punk.

Mute Print 12-15-2005 08:15 PM

I'll definitely check them out.

I have so many bands I need to look into.

I'm hoping to have checked out a bunch of metal bands by the time Vince is back.

Also, Brandon, is there any chance you'd be interested in doing an article for my "Expanding Your tastes" thread?

ZaaR 12-15-2005 08:23 PM
me2
You haven't heard of these bands!

I would, but I don't know which band to do. I'll find one.. They have to be relatively not known don't they? And obviously not pop-punk, but I think I have that easily convered.

Hm. I'll see what I can produce.

Zack: I have, I mean other bands :p. I've heard of every band there lmao.

Mute Print 12-15-2005 08:25 PM

It doesn't really matter if they're unknown. I mean, Set It Straight is really well-known by the Hardcore kids, but not that well known in here.

It can be poppy too (see: The Code, Set Your Goals), just so long as it isn't straight pop-punk.

Edit - Although looking back on it, the Code really is a pop-punk band moreso than a punk band. :p

ZaaR 12-15-2005 08:25 PM

DO AGALLOCH OR OPETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

/pwned by caps filter

/beats caps filter

B 12-15-2005 08:30 PM

I was going to do Opeth, but I may not. I want to do something hXc. And by that I mean, well, actually I don't know, I just think Opeth are a little too well known, even in here.

cobert 12-15-2005 08:31 PM

DO GWAR!!!!!

j/k lawl.

Sup thread.

Mute Print 12-15-2005 08:31 PM

Opeth seem to be pretty well-known, but if that's who you want to do, go ahead. I mean, Vince did TSO, and they are incredibly well-known I think.

Well, I'm off for a bit. i'll be back layer.

How's it going, Cob?

B 12-15-2005 08:33 PM

Later Brian.

I want to do something post-hardcore-ish.

I have a few ideas, but I don't want to say them in here because that ruins it.

ZaaR 12-15-2005 08:34 PM

What is "post hardcore" anyways?
