I made my first song using ableton today. It's just a bit of getting to know the program and such. Song is in inspired after a few successive dreams I had that were focussed on my primary school that were eerie/creepy in tone. School is supposed to be a fun and comfortable place to learn and play but those dreams begged to differ.

I don't download music, because I could just buy the CD and have the music, where as to download I have to wait (while it downloads).

It's all instrumental Chu, I've never song on a recording. If I ever get good enough at singing to record vocal parts, then I'll do some sort of thing involving vocals.

If I really like music, I don't feel happy until I have the physical copy.

I'm sorry dude, the sound on this laptop is pretty dodgy, it breaks up after a while (same as watching a flash video unfortunately), not sure what it is (I haven't done any investigation).

I'll move the music to my iPod at some point and give it a good listen, I got through the first 4 songs though. Good stuff man :)

I have this cd of latin music from the library. "Poncho Sanchez" is one of the artists, great stereotypical sounding name... but then a few songs later there's one by "Willie Colon"

so my guitarist hates me because i spent $4000ish on a bunch of recording equipment (mics, interfaces, software, cables, stands etc) and i'm not letting our band use it because we can't play our originals 1000% yet

and now he's sucking up to me because i own all the cables we use live and it's hard to find a bassist around this area and they won't have anyone to record them

Why? Make the most of it, maybe it's the current equipment that's restricting you from playing better.

we don't jam enough to know the songs and when we do jam we practice our covers for 90% of the jam

i've even suggested we record one of the covers because we can play alot of them 100% and he keeps saying no and he wants to record an original

If you want to prove to guys that they don't have a song down, the best way to do it is to record them and let them hear for themselves how rough it is. They'll want to practise after that.
