Jamie 09-11-2004 10:09 AM

fox, if you dont want it, ill have it!

Foxfire 09-11-2004 10:13 AM

Haha. :p

No, I need a good 4-string. A lot of music doesn't call for a 7. :p Just needs new strings. I'm thinking of going Dean Markley Will Lee Medium Lights.

Jamie 09-11-2004 10:23 AM

Ill sway my squier p-bass for your curbow then?

:D

Id say if you have quite a bit of money for a four go for an american jazz bass, or the geddy lee sig. jazz bass

Foxfire 09-11-2004 10:26 AM

I only need one. ;) My next bass'll be a fretless Conklin, but that won't be for a while. More importantly I need an amp; after that I'm changing the preamp in my Conklin to an Aguilar OBP-3. It's really loud and I want more tonal versatility. I'm going to have the people installing it add a concentric low-mid/high-mid pot, as well. :D

Tomorrow I need to go to Guitar Center and get straplocks and a strap for it, though. The strap pegs are a bit messed up and I'm afraid to wear a strap on it. Plus I need a bigger strap. ;)

Jamie 09-11-2004 10:32 AM

Wood filler i reckon. get the reeeeeally strong stuff, fill your hole, let it dry well then screw in your strap pins.

I would suggest not to get schaller ones. I had some and i hear things about them that they can rip themselves out of the body. so i'd say definately a no-no for your lovely conklin!

I hate people like you, you just remind me that i dont own a conklin :( :P

EDIT: as some of you may know, my minidisc player recently died. It was a tragic loss. I am now looking into buying an mp3 player. Im not rich so i cant afford a nice ipod. Ive found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11024&item=5720138923&rd=1

It looks good and is cheap! Ive managed to find one review about it and everything was negative. Does anyone own one? if so can i have some info about it please?

thanks

Foxfire 09-11-2004 10:34 AM

:p

That's really odd...everyone else on here reccommended Schallers. o_O All my teacher told me was "At Guitar Center, there are two types of straplocks: the expensive ones, and the cheap ones. The expensive ones SUCK."

I'm confused now.

Jamie 09-11-2004 10:39 AM

weird! actually your guitar teacher is right (in my eyes!)

The one you screw in suck. IMO the plastic ones which are like a circle are waaaaay better. I havent had a single accident with them!

Foxfire 09-11-2004 10:42 AM

Yeah! The ones with the circle thing are the ones he has.

FREAKofNATURE 09-11-2004 10:49 AM

i think my friend has those, they get annoying because they rattle when you play.

Jamie 09-11-2004 11:26 AM

^^^^ yeah, so id go for the cicle ones. I may ebay my schaller ones....

5 pounds anyone?

Wintermute 09-11-2004 11:26 AM

I've got plastic ones. They break every now and then, not often. But they only cost about 50p a set.

peeted 09-11-2004 11:35 AM

has anyone hear herd 50 pence - in da pub?.....good song

Foxfire 09-11-2004 11:37 AM

Wintermute 09-11-2004 11:38 AM

e p 09-11-2004 11:40 AM

So I already asked in the official FA thread but I'm very interested in doing the next one.

FREAKofNATURE 09-11-2004 11:42 AM

e p 09-11-2004 11:46 AM

The Featured Artist.

FREAKofNATURE 09-11-2004 11:49 AM

Foxfire 09-11-2004 12:00 PM

Who're you thinking of doing EP?

e p 09-11-2004 12:05 PM
Who're you thinking of doing EP?
Being that I love Jam Bands (and a lot of otehr things, but them inparticular)and my avatar is Phish it should be wasy to figure out.

Foxfire 09-11-2004 12:08 PM

Psh. :p I don't know who's been done and who hasn't, so not necessarily. :p

e p 09-11-2004 12:10 PM

Well it was either between Chris Wood (Medeski Martin and Wood) or Mike Gordon (Phish).

You choose

My goal is to get them both but for now I'm only doing one.

Wintermute 09-11-2004 12:32 PM
Psh here comes the MW4 haxx0r. ;p

What's up?
Not much. Finished work, so I'm munching on some chicken and rice and checking over the forums.

Foxfire 09-11-2004 12:33 PM

Did you close the thread of that guy advertising his BP80 yet?

Wintermute 09-11-2004 12:37 PM

Deleted it wholesale.

Foxfire 09-11-2004 12:38 PM

Cool. He doesn't get the point. :p

You and your shameless haxxing. :upset:

ShelBel 09-11-2004 12:38 PM

I had chicken for lunch too- really bad fried chicken from the hospital cafeteria. it was overdone, and somehow managed to be dry and greasy all at once.

I've had the same gal from Grace Unit call me three times today... needing her password for this, that, and the other thing... now she wants to log on to the education site but doesn't have her employee number and I can't help her with that, so she's outta luck. :P

Hour and a half and I get to go home... and can I just say that after playing for about an hour, my fingers don't want to type? Its like they've forgotten how to move that way, it's really weird. Oh well. Just figured I'd share.

ScorpSath 09-11-2004 12:47 PM

you've all managed to make me hungry, very uncool :p

Wintermute 09-11-2004 12:48 PM

This chicken was really good. Homecooked in an Aga, with a kind of spicy... I don't know the word. It wasn't a coating, it was too liquid for that, but not a sauce, not liquid enough for that... Ah, you get the gist. Maybe.

FREAKofNATURE 09-11-2004 12:49 PM

^man i would love that right now

Wintermute 09-11-2004 12:50 PM

That meal looks... ok, I guess. What you need is toad in the hole... simply gorgeous... with proper Cumbrian sausages, the kind that are handmade by a butcher, not plastic wrapped in a supermarket, with rich onion gravy...

Best. Food. Ever.

Oh, that or Honey glazed roast ham shank. Mouthwateringly perfect.

Ooh, or Yorkshire pudding... properly deep ones, with crisp roasties...

I've never quite got why people say English cooking is terrible... Maybe they've never actually tried the real stuff.
