On Tallica: 10 thrash songs over 22 years hardly qualifies a band as thrash. And half those were written by Dave.
Anyone who has spent even a little time exploring thrash metal knows that Metallica are not the true representation of thrash or whatever. Also, lets drop this 'cause arguing with a moron who has "#1 Metallica Fan" as a usertitle is never gonna get you anywhere.

Jev 10-30-2005 09:13 AM
Well it's near Watford.

Where are you?
Hoddesdon, far east of Hertfordshire near Harlow(in Essex) and Ware.

agreed. metallica doesn't represent thrash at all, iuno why anyone would say that. yes they have some thrash songs, it doesn't make them a thrash band though.

Hertfordshire people represent. I'm from Hitchin (very north of Herts).

In my opinion the only thing that's really thrash is KEA and several select
songs

metalmilitia101 10-30-2005 10:58 PM

exactly.

Britton 10-30-2005 11:01 PM

I can see how it might be confusing to people who dont know alot about
this specific genra.

we are having a great time in a genra thread if you wanna join us
Rust In Peace is fugging amazing. Thought I should inform you all.
Yes yes we know. Definately megadeth's finest hour so far.

Dreww 10-31-2005 11:18 AM

Mazeppa 10-31-2005 11:34 AM
I plan on getting all the albums. It's the order that is tricky.
Jev 10-31-2005 12:42 PM
I have decided to just buy their albums in chron. order.
Good idea. But don't be put off if you don't like Killing Is My Business. the 2nd album's nothing like it, but in a good way.

Dreww 10-31-2005 12:47 PM

Yeah. I'm pretty open minded about metal bands from this era. They can go from something I totally hate to something I totally love and vice versa.

Jev 10-31-2005 12:59 PM

Hey Father Jack did you get the songs? YSI spazzed out so I don't know if you got them.

metalmilitia101 10-31-2005 01:04 PM
Yeah. I'm pretty open minded about metal bands from this era. They can go from something I totally hate to something I totally love and vice versa.
that's true. the guys in the bands themselves usually function in erratic manners too, lol

Father_Jack 10-31-2005 01:08 PM
Hey Father Jack did you get the songs? YSI spazzed out so I don't know if you got them.
Nah, must not have worked. Megaupload > YSI.

I know it's slower but it never fails like you send it does.
Yeah. I'm pretty open minded about metal bands from this era. They can go from something I totally hate to something I totally love and vice versa.
I'm trying to be more like that. I was getting to a point where if it didn't sound like slayer, I wouldn't listen to it. Now I actually getting into different metal genres all together.

metalmilitia101 10-31-2005 07:51 PM

nope, that sounds cool though.

As for him on the Some Kind of Monster DVD, I think that metallica shouldn't have released it to the public, especially without james being there, if they had something to say to him they should have done it in private.
