Apocalyptic Raids 01-10-2005 06:17 PM
Alone In The Dark was on The Legacy :)
:upset:

shows how much i know about Testament

FatalEnergy 01-10-2005 07:28 PM

I though Practice What You Preach and Souls of Black were great thrash albums, they just toned down the thrashiness of the guitart tone and the production was way too polished and not raw enough, I also really like The Ritual even though its not really thrash at all

Just picked up - Horrorscope - Overkill........thrash on

Apocalyptic Raids 01-10-2005 07:50 PM

Practice What You Preach and Sins Of Omission are still good thrash tunes but.

metal-militia 01-11-2005 06:50 AM
While you guys are here, anyone want to tell me what a good Testament album is?
The Legacy
perhaps maybe The New Order too, it's ok but no where near as good The Legacy, but worth picking up.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-11-2005 06:59 AM

Or get First Strike Still Deadly, which has 5 tracks from The Legacy and 5 tracks from The New Order rerecorded along with 1 demo track

metal-militia 01-11-2005 10:07 AM

hmmm just noticed that Dargon's banned...anyone know why?

DisposableHeroes 01-11-2005 12:49 PM
hmmm just noticed that Dargon's banned...anyone know why?
It may have something to do with that gimp necrophagia

metal-militia 01-11-2005 02:11 PM

Dargon told me on Slsk it was something to do with a threadt that got closed

ForiegnPenguin 01-11-2005 02:36 PM

That was hilarious. Anyway, Annihilater is a sick band.

LordDargon 01-11-2005 02:38 PM

Posted in a "favorites" thread which are illegal. But I'm back now, back with a vengenace, and I got Time Does Not Heal. It is really good, Ron's vocals are alright, nothing special.

metal-militia 01-11-2005 03:11 PM
That was hilarious. Anyway, Annihilater is a sick band.
you mean Annihilator? if you do you must mean that band that is pretty bad-average apart from Alice in Hell and Never Never Land

ForiegnPenguin 01-11-2005 04:52 PM

Good thing those are the cds I got.

RCA 01-11-2005 05:15 PM
Yeah, they were....Hoglan joined in the 1990's sometime and Testament became Dog Faced Gods, mainly due to their change in sound. Anyway, they changed it back just before the album was released.
Yeah um...no they didn't. It was Legacy then Testament. No Dog Faced Gods.

ThrashMaster27 01-11-2005 05:34 PM

"Hey, there you go! Hey, but Testament broke up. When I joined Testament, they were not Testament. They decided to call themselves Testament. That "Demonic" album was originally going to be called Dog Faced Gods. That's what I joined that project under the name of. Then, all of a sudden at the last minute, it was like, "Let's call it Testament".

Taken from an Interview with Gene Hoglan. Maybe not Testament changing their name, but you get my point.

FatalEnergy 01-11-2005 06:11 PM

Gene is such an awesome drummer........but why the hell did he go on recording such a crappy album with Testament ?

ThrashMaster27 01-11-2005 06:17 PM

Who knows...side project gone wrong perhaps? Talking of Dog Faced Gods! That song is a ripper.

sensitiveorgan00 01-11-2005 06:37 PM
Gene is such an awesome drummer........but why the hell did he go on recording such a crappy album with Testament ?
He had some free time maybe? ;)

I tend to like the whole Practice What You Preach album. It was the first testament I had heard and was exactly what I was expecting them to sound like. Good straight ahead thrash. It's no Rust in Peace, but then what is?

a8o 01-11-2005 06:50 PM
That was hilarious. Anyway, Annihilater is a sick band.
Alice in Hell is one of the best thrash albums ever. I love WTYD, Ligiea and Word Salad. They vocals suck, but thankfully there's loads of instrumentals. Another album definately worth a look.

CaptainWaits 01-11-2005 07:00 PM

Picked up Metal Church's Self-Titled today

Apocalyptic Raids 01-11-2005 07:18 PM

like it?

sensitiveorgan00 01-11-2005 07:21 PM

Good album. BEYOND THE BLACK \m/

CaptainWaits 01-11-2005 07:29 PM
like it?
Yes I do

Also, has any one heard of Speed Kill Hate???

They're a newer thrash band with Tim Mallare, Derek Tailer and Dave Linsk (all guys from OVERKILL \m/) and some different singer

And I'm wondering wat some people think of them if you've heard of them, because I haven't, and I want to get facts on them

RavenousMetalist87 01-11-2005 10:43 PM

Enemy of God is out here in the US!

I'll be getting it tommorrow after school. Anyone else got it or planning to get it?

Griffin_Page 01-11-2005 11:17 PM

Anybody here heard of Wasteland? They are a kickass thrash band that is linked to the Kreator home page... check them out, they rock

probly not, since i already downloaded it. I tried, when it leaked not to download to whole thing so i would want to buy it, but i gave in to temptation.

:upset:

What Sacred Reich release is best worth picking up?

metal-militia 01-12-2005 07:13 AM

I've got a few Sacred Reich tracks, mostly off The American Way, and i didn't think that they were that good.

I see your point, but was the project he working on the actual album, or the band?

I believe you now though.

I've been meaning to check them out, I know Og has an album of theirs on Soulseek, I'll get it from him.
and what kind of Poseur would choose Darkness Descends
LordDargon 01-12-2005 08:22 AM

Don't try to download Serpent Temptation from anyone, I'm going to send it to you later today. (I can send files using the new slsk without you being present)

They were decent, vocals were quite 'Deathy' IMO but the music was pure thrash.

So does anyone stateside wanna tell me how much they are enjoying Enemy of God and rub it in that I have to wait until the 17th

LordDargon 01-12-2005 11:52 AM

RCA: Yeah, Og is in korea until mid-feb he told me.

SLATANIC: After many listens, I have decided that it is too melodic and not thrashy enough. But still get it. It is reccomended :thumb:

metal-militia 01-12-2005 12:32 PM

am I the only one who's not going to get it the day it comes out? I'd prefer to have some more of the old Kreator first.

You're not alone. I'm doing the same.

RCA 01-12-2005 03:33 PM

Dargon, this Incubus KICKS ASS!!! Fast as hell! This band sounds like Exhorder meets Dark Angel musically.

I found a link to a Nailgunner demo:
http://personal.inet.fi/musiikki/nailgunner/disco.htm

I love it. Definately give that band a listen.

ForiegnPenguin 01-12-2005 06:11 PM

You guys aren't referring to the Incubus I hear on the radio, or are you?
