Nope.

Nonpoint?
I like their first album, and the song Antihero uploaded a while back (thanks for that, by the way :)).

Antihero again; why not just have them meeting in a forum/market?

I'm slightly annoyed, anyway. After four years of compulsory postal voting in my area (the area I live in, not where I go to University), the local authorities have decided to allow people to choose once more this year (in time for a general election), with the default being regular voting, meaning you have to apply for postal voting. Being in Leeds as I am, I didn't get this message until about half an hour ago, and the deadline for applying for postal vote papers is..tomorrow. So I've downloaded an application form, and now all I have to do is fill it out and send it on up to Gateshead civic centre with my non-existent fax machine, because of some fucksticks somehow neglecting to inform me of all this.

In better news though, my grandma randomly gave me £200 a couple of days ago

Shred Danson 04-25-2005 01:50 PM

Sorry about the double postage, Bartender, this computer is a little slow.

No, it was a cover. In the Air Tonight, I think. I'll download this one, though.

ATM 04-25-2005 02:05 PM

Do you guys think a mixtape thread would be successful here in rock and metal? The one in alternative/indie is so great, I thought it might be cool to make one here.

CemetaryGates9 04-25-2005 02:07 PM

Hello.

I finished reading The Jungle today.
Try it out, dude. I'd be a regular; I make mixes all the friggin' time.
I'll get you the Broken Bones songs (possibly the rest of the cd as well). All the songs are very powerful and make you listen to them over and over. Broken Bones has one of the most attention grabbing choruses Ive heard in a while.

edit: gocaps if you dont already own it you should buy Satch's "Strange Beautiful Music"...It is officially my favorite Satch album.

ATM 04-25-2005 02:16 PM

Tender or Peer, would a mixtape thread be illegall? I want to have mod suppourt before I take any action.

//

Wow, this Bark Psychosis album is excellent.

CemetaryGates9 04-25-2005 02:23 PM

So how would the thread work?

Shred Danson 04-25-2005 02:25 PM
So how would the thread work?
People post various mixes of bands and songs that would fit together.

Illmatic 04-25-2005 02:26 PM
I didn't even know you played guitar! A Muddy Waters tele must be sweet.
You'll find I'm full of surprises.

I was thinking about it today, and I figured I'd be happiest in a job that requires a lot of socializing and human interaction.

CemetaryGates9 04-25-2005 02:26 PM

Oh, just as I thought. Doesn't sound bad.

I'm kind of hesitant at the moment because YSI seems to be slowly dying recently :-/ All my downloads from there have been going much more slowly the last few days.

Jom 04-25-2005 02:50 PM

w00t !

I just finished my imaginary conversation for classics. It took me a couple hours, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Now, to run off and print it.

I remember Med saying that he'd like to read an excerpt from it, so I'll edit it in next time I see him online posting here.

EDIT:

Bartender, I have them meeting in a tavern. My prof said that that would be acceptable.

Yes, the song was Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight." I have a number of other songs on my computer here, but from their earlier albums.

munky_magik 04-25-2005 02:52 PM

The Extremist is alright, my favourite of his is Engines of Creation.

I also managed to waltz past my 6,000th post without noticing where I put it :-/
Yes, the song was Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight." I have a number of other songs on my computer here, but from their earlier albums.
As a Nas fan, I absolutely have to point this out: "In The Air Tonight" is sampled and used as the beat for "One Mic"

As a Pats fan, I absolutely have to point this out: In the 2002 Divisional Playoffs ("The Snow Game"/"The Tuck Game"), "In The Air Tonight" was playing over the PA at Foxboro Stadium during the most crucial juncture of the game (when the referee was reviewing Brady's fumble to see if it really was a fumble). I know this because
1) I was there
and
2) I watched the "Three Games to Glory" DVD about every day for a month--I assumed it was the last time I would ever see a Boston team win a championship so I wanted to savor the moment
Which one? If you were the one talking about Europa I already have it as I love Santana :)
Yea it's Europa. I uploaded it because I began learning it this weekend.

And ATM, I've heard of that Jewish Raggae guy. He's gonna be at this year's Bonnaroo festival.

Illmatic 04-25-2005 04:31 PM

Oh lawd.

The Dresden Dolls are touring with Nine Inch Nails?

That would be a bit too much self-absorbed whining for my tastes.

Arucard 04-25-2005 04:39 PM

I just sent the drummer of Arsis an e-mail, i hope i get a reply. It was mainly thanking for the impact his music has made on my life, and perspective of music as a whole.

I can safely say he is one of the only musicians i look up too.

magicbus 04-25-2005 06:15 PM

How is everyone doing tonight?

I'm starting an AIM chat.

Yea, that's him. He's very good, I downloaded a bunch of his music today.

On a competely unrelated note, SOAD - Roulette is a really cool song.
