I think their new one is the best, to be perfectly honest. One of the heaviest releases I've heard.
I love TPHD the most, but I love them and their albums way too much to rank them other than that.

gmoneyguy 10-18-2007 03:41 PM

I really like TPHD myself. I can't wait to hear the new album.

TPHD is one my favorite albums by any band. The new one is a level below that, but still quite good. TWTF is right there as well...along with The Knowing, Of Sculptured, and AIHM
=/

that should be an excellent show

why can't you go?
I'm house/dog sitting and the only way I could get into DC would be to use my girlfriend's sister's car.

Poofy 666 10-18-2007 06:35 PM

I missed the WITTR/Jesu show here last week :(

But I'm seeing Boris tomorrow with my girlfriend
whooo!
My apologies, I was under the impression you were also from Brisbane from previous posts (dare I say it was talking about a Wolfmother show? ). I must have you confused with somebody else.

And yes, Rockinghorse is the go when it comes to record stores in SE QLD.

Sorry about the off-topic post to the rest of you.
Actually that probably was me, I did see wolfmother at the river stage last year. I live about two hours away from Brisbane, I'm on the sunshine coast.

new Om is fantastic, Kage will tell you it's their weakest one yet (still good though) but I say that it tops Variations, and it's just below Conference
BAND ON HOLD INDEFINITELY-

During the last few weeks, I have had to face a very difficult reality...as it stands, I can no longer make music. The break to my already damaged right hand has not healed correctly. As of now, I can't play drums at all and I only have a limited ability to play guitar (and I cannot bow at all). Even with surgery, a recovery that would allow me to play well enough to continue the band is not assured. Such a surgery would also require extensive muscle reconstruction and bone resetting and will take an estimated year and a half to 2 years to heal.

I have made music for the last 12 years...nearly half my life. I've done The Angelic Process for nearly 9 of those. When I think about who I am without music, I don't really know. Sometimes, something is so much a part of you...

But to get to the point, The Angelic Process has been put on hold indefinitely. There is nothing else that can be done about that. We have also managed to sell out of all the copies of all the reissue albums and most of our supply of the other albums. We will no longer be selling Angelic Process merchandise through our website or Decaying Sun site. This may change in the future, but as of right now, we need a break from everything. The stress and amount of energy that have gone into making this decision have left M and I drained and in need of a recovery period. All the orders that have been placed will be filled and everyone will get their order, but no new orders will be excepted from this point on. Any new news or updates about the band will be posted here and on the website.

We want to thank everyone for everything. We have met so many amazing people because of the band and our life has been improved so much by those interactions. I so want to name everyone and thank them personally and I'm sure I will in time, but right now I just want to get this post over with.

This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. It feels like a part of me is dying. I am sorry to everyone who loves this band as much a we do. I'm sorry to everyone who will never see us play live. I'm sorry to everyone...

yes it is. Special Wishes is pretty cool too. It's a lot more song based or something, but I dig it.

I've never heard them...but the chick is ugly as hell. The guy is hotter than the chick.

Shattered_Future 10-21-2007 02:45 PM

Wrong. Never heard Seemless (can't pass judgement), and Down is very good. Not the best, but very good.

Phototropic 10-21-2007 03:44 PM

Eliminator 10-21-2007 05:23 PM

pate 10-21-2007 05:24 PM

Down is garbage.

Shattered_Future 10-21-2007 06:38 PM

Sure, Phil's a crappy vocalist, but the music is good. And Phil's tolerable enough for me to enjoy it.

New Electric Wizard is pretty enjoyable. I like Dopethrone best though.

pate 10-21-2007 06:43 PM

I don't like the music.

I have little interest in hearing the new EW.

rippa32 10-21-2007 07:00 PM
Down is garbage.
Damn straight. I saw them open for Black Sabbath this year and they were boring as hell, there was just nothing going for them.

ATM 10-21-2007 07:23 PM

The new EW is awesome, you're crazy Pate.

Txus 10-22-2007 12:49 AM

It's pretty decent.
