Matmos - A Chance to Cut is a Chance to Cure
How is that? I'm quite intrigued by the concept. |
I've decided to actually proplerly listen to the Smashing Pumpkins this past few days (for some reason or another I've never really listened to them). Years too late but oh well, good band.
Also been liking this week: Drive Like Jehu - (no album just a collection of songs I have on my pc) Elbow - Cast Of Thousands At The Drive In - Relationship Of Command (yeah I know like years too late) Hot Snakes (same as Drive Like Jehu). |
How is that? I'm quite intrigued by the concept.
Nothing really out of the ordinary. For the most part it's basically just techno pop made with surgery noise samples. Most of the time you won't recognize the samples, except for the occasional "squish squish". Still, it's an amusing listen and it creeps you out when you think about it. They remind me of The Soft Pink Truth and a little bit of Ratatat, to give you an idea. |
How come "McLusky Does Dallas" throws my face down on a curb and stomps at it untill the album finishes. Then I just want my head stomped in just a bit more.
Yeah, it's that awesome. |
Sleep Station
Comets on Fire Steven Earle |
Mastodon/Isis/Jesu/Mare/Pelican
Seeing Mastodon/Cult of Luna next week, and since I haven't heard the Luna yet, I'm making due with their peer-ish peeps. |
Hey Nacho I just want you to know that I'm enjoying Source Tags and Codes now. I really don't like much of the same music as you, but I think there's somewhat of an agreement here. Right?

Black Mountain/Pink Mountaintops (They go together so well)
Pavement (Bought Terror Twilight, it's quite cool. |

The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
Huddle Information is the song that cheers me up the most. I've really been digging Architecture in Helsinki. City Calm Down and Scissor Paper Rock are wonderful. Everyone download those 2 songs right now. |

Seeing Mastodon/Cult of Luna next week, and since I haven't heard the Luna yet, I'm making due with their peer-ish peeps.
They're awesome. Better than Isis. Possibly the heaviest band I've heard. I'm digging "Diary" by Sunny Day Real Estate. |
Yeah, I'd put Cult of Luna above Isis too. But then I don't really like Isis much..good little group of bands there, though.
Hot Cross - Cryonics
Is that worth buying? I don't think I can get it without ordering it on import, so I'd rather like to know if I like it beforehand. And for me, mostly; Elvis Costello - This Year's Model Talking Heads - the five albums I own, but especially Fear of Music and Talking Heads '77 Gordian Knot - Emergent and Gordian Knot Bjork - Homogenic and Medulla I think that's about it (other than the odd few songs here and there) for the last few days. |
I don't think it's that worth of a buy. It has some impressive songs but as a whole it's quite inconsistent, compared to their EPs. If you like to hear a more melodic side of the band with singing you might like it.

Little League is an unbelievable song.
I just listened to Analphabetapolothology yesterday for the first time in a while. They're so good, even IF they the most ridiculous album name out there. :p |
I've always meant to try and get some stuff by Joan Of Arc... Never seemed to get around to it though. I'll try and remember sometime. >_<

I bought Before The Dawn Heals Us by M83 yesterday and I'm diggin' it right now.

Get some, they're good. I haven't heard Cap'n Jazz, I will check them out. |
Elliott Smith. Lots and lots of Elliott Smith.
|
I give a thumbs up to the last three posts.

I've been listening to Nirvana's "Nevermind" and "Unplugged in New York" for what seems like every day. I really enjoy their music. I need to get my hands on another album of theirs, though. I'm growing tired of the same old songs.
BMG's $4.99 sale, here I come. ;) |
Interesting musical day...
Edan - "Beauty and the Beat" Sleater-Kinney - "The Woods" and I'm just starting to listen to Liz Phair - "Exile in Guyville" |

Well, you were only ten years old when it was released (nine actually unless the album was released at the very end of '97). |
