You know what? As funny as Jimmy Carr can be, he's pretty shit live. So I'm getting Lee Evan's latest DVD now, hopefully that will give me something to do later.
Now I have coursework to do. 3 pieces in for tomorrow :( |
I've been lsitening to the Offspring all week now, especially Smash and Americana.
Great band.
I listened to Smash on the way to school, and Americana on the way home. |
I'll whore The Offspring for now, but you should have a lot of it.
! I forgot all about them! I don't have any Offspring right now :( Doh, how could I be stupid enough to forget 'em. |
Omg, MX is working.
Boring day at school. |
/Me is bored to death. Someone give me a really awesome band to download a bunch of stuff from?
Captain Everything. Pop/hardcore/thrash punk band. Lovely and very funny (saw 'em live on monday!) Don't be put off by the hardcore/thrash labels. They're basically like any pop-punk band on speed with hoarse voices :D |
Captain Everything are playing in Lincoln soon :D
|
****ing hell, girls aren't half 'difficult' are they?

I could see them again on saturday but i think i'll just go to the pub with my mate who's back from college, especially as i'm seeing them on January 5th with Lagwagon and Wilhelm Scream.
Captain Everything are playing in Lincoln soon :D
You don't even like them? You've made a big thing of that everytime i mention them. |
Sup.
I cant post much, im in the middle of a class. Go check the emo/screamo community thread for an interesting story. |
No I haven't? I didn't even know you had mentioned them
Hmmm, I'm sure it was you? Guess not then. Maybe it was Ganondorf? |
I'm certain it wasn't me, since Jas got me into them about a year ago.
Either way, they are playing tomorrow here which should be good. Shame it's where all the local scenesters flock to at night. |
Captain Everything are such good fun live. If you see any of them not doing anything go and chat to them, they're really nice guys, very friendly.
I saw them last about 2 months ago and it was one of the best concerts i've been to. I met them on the street and had a drink with them in the pub, got to sing on stage a few times, got a set list, got a drum stick.....good times. |
Thursday 20th October- Captain Everything! at the London Underworld
What a f'ucking good day! My bank account has taken a bit of a battering but it sure was worth it. These guys are a really good fun pop-punk band, who play some great high-paced sing along music. This si the seventh time i've seen them and i've enjoyed every time immensly. First of all me and my brother happened to bump into the band on the street as we were heading to a record store. Had a bit of a chat with them as always and then bumped into them, again in the pub above the venie where we had a quick drink. On stage they were terrific fun. Mass stage invasions occured throughout, i think i got up there about 4 times and both Jon the bassist and Lewis the guitarist were repetedly held aloft whilst playing! I came away from the show with no voice, a set list and a drum stick which was great. I also bought a few patches for my jacket, a Filaments t-shirt, a CE poster, got a free CD and pulled a pretty good looking girl. I was also recognised by the singer of a band called Fireapple Red and had a chat with him which was nice! Great show, great night, great band. 9.5/10 PS i have got a shocking hangover right now, i feel like sh!t :(
That was what i posted in the concerts thread afterwards. You should definately go if you get the chance Kif. You seen them before? |
Nah, I heard they were supporting My Awesome Compilation a while ago so I would've gone to that, but there was no one to go with. I know some people who want to see CA though, so I'll see if I can.
|
Dammit, I have a 1,000 word report to do about my storyboard for my trailer, which I still haven't fully finished. This could get interesting...
|
My Dad just had a go at me because he wa slooking throiught hte temp internet files and the pictures bit and there were tons of pics pof people from myspace stored, adn he kept asking what i do on the internet and who are these people ?

See, Myspace is evil. It even attacks people outside of the digital world.
|
I've not been here since the 21st September (apparently), so get me up to speed with all the latest MX gossip.
|
Um, Chad is attacking MX with his super hacking powers, and the site is being a bit gay at the moment and keeps crashing. Oh, and I'm doing work
P.S. - Hey it's brycey!! |
Ooh, it's Brycey, i've been telling him to start positng on myspace fpr a-g-e-s :p

Dan, I really have to ask this. Is there something wrong with your keyboard? Because every post you make always has like little minor spelling and grammar mistakes, and you do it on MSN as well.
I don't really care about them, but I just was curious since it happens so much? |
It's because i'm a spazz, on MSN i don't check and it's almost unreadable but here it's a bit better as i check sometimes and don't type as fast.

I was going to go too, but I had the same problem, and none of my friends like The Pogues. :upset: |
Don't mention the Pogues, please. My mate got me a ticket to see them in Manchester on Saturday but I think I'm gonna have to let him down and not go because I can't get the time off work, and also probably can't afford the train ticket.
On a brighter note, the gig last night was insane. It was in someone's living room, and we showed up at 7.15 to find the headliners soundchecking and the room so cluttered with bags and guitar cases that we could barely get in. I will say now that I had some concerns at some point. Anyway, we had a quick bosh through 'Scratch' by Allister to warm up, and then headed off to the pub for a bit with the other band. Upon returning to the house, we found all the bags had been moved, leaving a decent floor in front of the stage. And it was alarmingly starting to fill up with people. First on was a 2-girl acoustic act, who played for about 15 minutes, and by the time they'd finished, the room was packed. I got up on the stage and found that I had lost the other two guys in my band, and embarrassingly had to summon them with the aid of the mic. After that, it was all rockin' fun! We got some people moving for some of our songs (especially Minority, which we covered), and got some really big cheers at the end of songs. One guy was even standing on the sofa at the back, throwing horns and taking photos! Quality. Best of all, the main act (who sound nothing like us) got nothing like that level of acclaim. It was, overall, awesome. |
The pogues are playing with DKM this winter. I think there was three dates at Brixton, but the first two are sold out

If you were making a sci-fi movie, what factors would you include to appeal to your target audience (14-17 year olds).

Lots of random sex, in a sci-fi setting. That's what I'd have wanted at that age. |
