fatbandit 01-24-2005 11:16 AM

I don't really have GAS, I just need that Roland so that I have an amp bigger than 15W...

bottlerocket 01-24-2005 11:17 AM

The first sign of GAS is not accepting your problem, you'll always say you need it.....

:upset: *I suck*

Wintermute 01-24-2005 11:21 AM
What does "shire" (as in yorkshire, lancashire, arseshire, etc..) means?
If it has a specific meaning, it's not a well known one. Something like area, or district. Something like that. Lancaster was the ruling city of it's county, so the area was called Lancashire, and so on. Though not all counties followed that.

Meanings of place-names are often hard to interpret. Lancaster apparently means 'Castle on the Lune', the Lune being the river. If the river was named for the Latin 'Luna', which is pretty likely, then you could argue Lancaster means 'Castle on the Moon', or at least 'Castle on the River of the Moon'

Wow, that was informative. Thnak you very much.....although I recall that in the Lord of the Rings, Tolkien says the Hobbits lived in the Shire, which in spanish is translated as "comarca", which is something like a village or a small town.

fatbandit 01-24-2005 11:35 AM

Gav, I *am* upgrading, to the DB 210. When they release it for a good price... :(

bottlerocket 01-24-2005 11:39 AM

voiceless one 01-24-2005 12:57 PM

It is quiet incasual tonight! How is everyone? Paul (cheers bud!) just introduced me to Classical Thump and it is soooo good! :)

Fernandes Power 01-24-2005 01:00 PM

I think theres only me here... Im ok.

fatbandit 01-24-2005 01:01 PM

Yes. It was great the first few listens for me. I can rarely listen to it all the way through now though, it can get a little monotonous. Still... Easier to listen to than Me and My Bass Guitar for me!

voiceless one 01-24-2005 01:03 PM

I havenm't heard that one.....

who is it by?

Paul has sent me some Weather Report now and it is just as good! :)

|Russ|

fatbandit 01-24-2005 01:10 PM

Me and my bass guitar is another Victor Wooten one. The only Weather Report I've heard is Teen Town I think, but I love it.

voiceless one 01-24-2005 01:11 PM

Yeah, this is Teen Town :)

fatbandit 01-24-2005 01:19 PM

Then its all good. Tell me though, is it supposed to have a sudden stop at 3 minutes? My version stops there, and it always sounded wrong and interrupted.

The song is only like 3 minutes long anyways. My version is...

Are we talking about Teen Town?

fatbandit 01-24-2005 01:43 PM

Mine is 3 minutes, but cuts out right on the 3 minute mark. It just sounded odd, because it was so sudden. No notes left to ring out, and kind of mid guitar solo bit.

peeted 01-24-2005 01:43 PM

the versions of teen town i have are 6.25 mins and 2.51 mins

PaulR 01-24-2005 01:44 PM
the versions of teen town i have are 6.25 mins and 2.51 mins
6.25 minutes? What happens in that one?

peeted 01-24-2005 01:46 PM

its an extended live one with various solos (very good to) he uses his looping pedle on it , its from the wether report jaco years cd

Fernandes Power 01-24-2005 03:26 PM

Im bored.

ShelBel 01-24-2005 03:27 PM

Join the club. I should be doing something but meh.

Fernandes Power 01-24-2005 03:32 PM

What should you be doing and what are you doing?

ShelBel 01-24-2005 03:35 PM

I should be over at the high school preparing our two DNS servers for migration, but instead I am at my desk on the internet. Hey, I just spent 3 hours on the road, driving from point a to point b, back to point a, on to point c, back to point a, and off to point d and back to a because thats the only way to get there.

Gotta love rural MN.

Indeed, sounds fun.

I ordered a bass from MN recently... should be here in a couple of weeks.

A fun piece of bassist-ego stroking/laughing at guitarists, I thought.

Once again the bass forum leads the way.

ShelBel 01-24-2005 03:53 PM

Yay us!

neal_672 01-24-2005 03:56 PM

neal_672 01-24-2005 04:00 PM

Oh yes, it shall probably provide us with some rather amusing results..

Fernandes Power 01-24-2005 04:02 PM
