5 years 2 months. Runs really well actually, better than most of my friends' windows laptops that they got at the beginning of the school year. Main advantages are better battery life (I can't go to school without my charger which kinda sucks) and better specs, won't burn me or overheat and shut down when I do things that aren't that intensive for the CPU.

If I were you I would probably just replace the battery on your old machine. a lot of timtes that is the problem. doesn't really sound like you need the new laptop, i would wait a while until you actually need one.
