None of the GTA3 games were any good on PC either. Some of them I still pretty much consider to this day to be incomplete-able due to bugs making some missions impossible, the ports were that bad.

I'm getting the impression GTA4 might go on the list of 'games I've been too bored to complete'
Dude.

GTA Vice City was an awful port, with terrible controls.

GTA San Andreas was an excellent port, and I found it more intuitive than on any of the consoles.

GTA4 was a cool game, but I had hardware issues (FU ATI, never buying another ATI graphics card again) that made me leave it after the first bridge.

Aes820 06-29-2010 01:59 AM

Yeah, I do graphic art for websites. And some printed material.

Nothing usually of any great creative flair tho. I'm often restricted by tight corporate branding guidelines.
But that's a good excuse for the fact that I'm not hugely creative.

Bruce E Kinesis 06-29-2010 06:32 AM

GTA4 was widely slammed as a godawful port, you have my sympathy mate.

Doesn't mean PC gaming is worthless by any means though- just look at the quality of stuff you can get on steam for a few quid.

The_Mop 06-29-2010 07:33 AM

Hey, don't worry about me and PC gaming, I'm most definitely a PC gamer, have been for a long time. I know it's far from worthless. It just pisses me off that a company with a ridiculous budget and huge amounts of time couldn't even scrub a decent port together.

I managed to get Mass Effect for 3 quid in the steam christmas sales. Best 3 quid I've ever spent. Played that back to back with Mass Effect 2, possibly the most amazing writing effort I've ever seen in a game.

Thinking of rockstar, Max Payne 2's script was apparently twice the length of a full length film script. How much work must have gone into ME? Must be ridiculous...

Bruce E Kinesis 06-29-2010 08:35 AM

Max Payne 2 is seriously fantastic, as is ME. Two of my favourite games ever.

To celebrate your birthday I went out and bought myself a MXR Custom-Comp!
Now to fiddle around with it until I get the perfect attack and such (the dials inside tweaked).

Not really, but happy birthday none-the-less.

Double posting; FU slow lod.

I finished building this today:

Took 3 days total, but I've only pointed the front. When I can be arsed I'll do the back so it's neat but only because it'd bother me. It doesn't need to be done. Never picked up a trowel before this so I'm pretty happy with how it looks, it's a bit assymetical but hey - I'm using 60 year old reclaimed bricks. I'm sure if I had brand new bricks I could make a straight, flat wall.

Speaking of the bricks, I found the decorative ones burried under the gravel when we moved in, they're from Blaydon, which is just down the road. Now all I want is some terracotta tiles to neaten the top.

Tomorrow we're gonna have lamb chops with mint and garlic marinade (with mint from our garden) BBQ bread, Corn on the cob and Stickysweet spring onions. Oh and a corriander pesto dressing on the side, with cherry tomato salad.

So good.

Now watching the Nadal v Murray match, which is great. Talk about commited to every single point.

My air rifle got knocked in the house move and the scope was messed up, so I zeroed it today and I can now shoot the head off a match at 15 yards, which is about as accurate as you can get. My mate from Poland came over on Wednesday, he used to be in the army, he's an insanely good shot. We were playing about with my BB gun and he was accurately double tapping an inch wide piece of wood at 15 yards. The Bastard.

Seeing as the lod is so slow, hows about a question;

If you could go back in time to any point and spend 24 hours as an observer (as in, you weren't noticed, can't interfere with history) where/when would you go?

Kuffuffled 07-02-2010 12:26 PM

Looks rickity

AG 07-02-2010 12:28 PM

Perfect word for it.

Squirrel 07-02-2010 12:38 PM

I'd go back and watch Ali vs. Foreman at ringside.

i've finished uni now and passed; officially have Masters level qualifications. Feeling absolutely shattered but looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow and getting back into training.

Modern Iconoclast 07-02-2010 05:45 PM

Sup lod. I'm bored as **** and listening to some Rosetta.

motogrifo 07-02-2010 06:11 PM

anyone else watching the World Cup? or is this forum filled with americans?

purple_hazer 07-02-2010 08:01 PM

and bitter englishmen/mexicans

Left Face Down 07-02-2010 11:48 PM

I kind of watch the world cup. Share my office with a guy who always has the games streaming, multiple people coming in during games being like "did you see that?!?!?!", and will randomly blurt out good or bad things depending on what happens.

// LOD J

Just got done working a 16-hour shift. Oh' happy days... stayed OT for two reasons: They wanted me to work over the weekend and I figured I could just knock it all out today and my companies work week is Saturday to Friday. So I get time and a half for every hour I worked today compared to just regular time if I worked tomorrow, or Monday.

Ugh, if only I wasn't a contractor I'd get double pay for working Monday. NO! Have to be contract. :upset: On the upside, don't feel so bad about dropping $200 at GC the other day as I made it back and a little more in OT today.
