I'd just like to know something from you guys
your top 3 guitarists
assuming Gilmour is your first :p

mine would look something like
1: Gilmour
2: Clapton
3: Frampton

long live David Gilmour.
1. Duane Allman (there goes your assumption)
2. Clapton

I have a lot of favorites, but those 2 are my definite favorites.

Mozza20037 08-14-2005 12:32 PM

i prefer Walters

Flaminghotchino 08-14-2005 12:32 PM

1. Gilmour
2. Hendrix
3. Clapton

Lunch 08-14-2005 01:13 PM

I can't rank them, but Gilmour, Clapton, Allman are probably my top 3.

WheepingGuitar39 08-14-2005 01:29 PM
i prefer Walters
Barbara Walters?

WheepingGuitar39 08-14-2005 01:30 PM

Duane Allman and Eric Clapton are SICK in the Layla Solo

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 08-14-2005 01:38 PM

1. Jeff Beck
2. David Gilmour, Robert Johnson, John McLaughlin
3. Frank Zappa, Allman, Eddie Hazel, Jimi Hendrix
HM: Syd Barrett

Although I don't think Gilmour is the even close to these guys in playing; I think he has one of the (if not the best) best styles I've ever seen. I love Syd's style aswell not as talented as these guys though.

WheepingGuitar39 08-14-2005 01:40 PM

time to upload something

ok, this bootleg is David Gilmour, some time in the past 5 years, with Kate Bush
I have a file which is just the song, which you cant really hear the solo too well
I have another which has better audio, but the video iant too great, but still not bad.
And then I have this file which is called David Gilmour guitar lesson, but it has several songs which are very very close up to his guitar whiel he's playing, even comfortably numb. This file includes the file im gonna upload but just the solo, it also has high hopes, great day for freedom, shine on you crazy diamond, and some others. But it's 300megs so ill upload it another day, because it has a far better quality video of what im uploading now.

For now:
enjoy
.(waiting for upload to finish)

WetNoodle 08-14-2005 01:51 PM

1-Gilmour
2-Vai
3-Johnny Greenwood(maybe not as great as the other 2, but i love his playing style)

Those are my top 3.

*listening to pigs right now*

For some reason, my favorite song off that album is Pigs On The Wing Part One. There's just something about it. When he says "Watching, The pigs on the wing" it makes me feel fuzzy inside :)

WheepingGuitar39 08-14-2005 02:17 PM

for the love of all that is holy
YouSendIt is horribly slow

how long does it take to upload 28megabytes

Herman Li is the guitarist for DragonForce. He puts Petrucci to shame.

The last concert of the tour
The concert where Roger spat on a fan
The concert which led to the creation of THE WALL

omg 1337

magicbus 08-15-2005 08:23 AM

What's the track order for that bootleg?

OMFG ORGAZM LZOL!

But seriously, that's pretty awesome. I can't wait to hear it.

Edit: The bootleg looks awesome, great tracklisting, but what's the track order?

As for favorite guitarists, I really couldn't narrow it down to a top 3 type thing, but I'll list some of my favorites (Gilmour is probably number one, but I don't know for sure).

Gilmour
Jeff Beck
SRV
George Harrison
That crazy asian who plays lead for the Black Mages
John McLaughlin
This is kind of an oddball in my opinion, but Billy Corgan
How did it lead to the creation to the wall?
:( how many times do i have to repeat this
did ANY of you ever watch any of the pink floyd biographies

July 6th 1977, Montreal Canada, Olympic Stadium
Stadium filled with about 115 000 people
Pink Floyd's Animal tour
During Pigs on the Wing Part 2, someone throws firework behind Roger Waters, which you can hear.
The fans were real idiots. (What a disgrace to montrealers like me)
Well at the end of the show Roger had enough and spat on this guy who climbed up on stage.
(during the Pigs solo..)
They went backstage and Roger felt really bad, David was furious at Roger for what he did, and didnt even come out to play the last song.
They canceled the rest of the tour
Roger Waters felt really really bad about what he did to that guy, and thought about it for a year. He finally came to the rest of the members with his creation... The Wall.
Saying it felt like during his time by himself where he thought about what he did, he had put a wall between him and others, and how when he played, it felt like there was a wall between him and his audience

Therefore.. The Wall.

thunderzstruck 08-15-2005 10:42 AM

wtf what pink floyd biography?

thanks for the story though

Scooch 08-15-2005 10:48 AM

I read in a book that he spat on the guy for saying Be Careful with that Axe, Roger.
