Well, there are a lot of live versions that combine both sets of lyrics, but they cut out a large number of the instrumental parts.

I went that route but replace Ummagumma with Piper and there I was! AHM is still my favorite and Atom Heart Mother the song is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.

I think you need to hear all Floyd era's to fully appreciate it.

I just read this month's Rolling Stone and Floyd were on the front cover. They give a fairly detailed biography of the band which I already knew but it was a good read.

Ya I read it as well taught me nothing new but made me want to listen to AHM during some standardized tests.

I'm looking forward to listening to it, the tracklist is pretty amazing. Barring the stuff from AMLOR, a lot of my faves are on the disc.

I actually really like AMLOR. I used to be pretty indifferent to it, but it's definitely grown on me.

There is this one post-waters song I really like called dogs of war or some war sentiment, I think its on AMLOR. Its funny cos I remember loving hearing it on the radio but never realised it was floyd.

The thing with AMLOR is it's not a real cohesive album like the older ones. It's more just a collection of songs thrown together on an album.
