Yeah I forgot about that, it's a really great song based on the blues shuffle.

Love playing it, just need to convince the band to learn it, even though it's really hard to get the amount of distortion that Lennon has on his guitar.

Jacaranda 10-18-2005 05:12 PM

I imagine Something is a fun song to play sure sounds fun. Or here comes the sun.

I want that Concert For Bangladesh that George did on DVD now that I found out Ringo plays "It Don't Come Easy" which is one of my favorite songs ever.

Something is a fun song to play on the ukelele.

DeusExMachina 10-18-2005 06:18 PM

Something is ridiculously fun to play.

Blue Sky, do you have a ukulele tab for it? If so, I would kill to get hold of it.

You play ukulele too?!

Deus: What you need is a ukulele chord chart, and then you need to get the chords from something, and the learn the neccessary uke chords

EDIT: Praise Jeezus!

It's a little wierd, they made it for lefties or something, I find it difficult to transcribe

Well, I can do that. But I was thinking more along the lines of that Jake Shimabukuro version of WMGGW. As in, the entire song arranged for a single uke. But, if that's not possible, I'll just learn the chords.

I haven't played my uke in way too long. It's sad. I'm going to start bringing it to school.

Edit: Holy crap Walrus, that site looks really cool. Haven't actually played it yet, but it looks awesome.

I have such good memories with ukulelies, they are the perfect school instrument. I used to have such memorable jam sessions in study hall
(I am usulally the freak playing Dino's Song during passing time)

That site is niftey especailly because it has the tuning

MBS 10-18-2005 06:32 PM

Deus, were you the one who I sent "Walking Down Rainhill" long time ago?

Jake Shimabukuro is an insane ukelele player. "Wes on Four" is like ukelele shred, it's great.

You did send that. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost it (I probably deleted it because it was m4a files or something). Now that I have iTunes, I can play it though... would you be willing to send it again, perchance? I'd really appreciate it. But no pressure.

MBS 10-18-2005 07:02 PM

Sure, I'll YSI it sometime, along with the Dave Gilmour in Concert you wanted. Maybe tomorrow, cause I'm loaded with homework this week, heh heh.

That would be great:)

I don't know whether to buy Concert For George or Concert For Bangladesh. It's a tough choice.

El_Goodo 10-18-2005 07:48 PM

I also want to check out the Concert For Bangladesh it sounds pretty cool. I also want to get the rest of The Beatles movies. But Im probably getting a job soon so maybe then :) For now I only have Paul McCartney Live In Red Square...but thats annoying if your just wanting to casually watch...you have to sit through all the interviews.

Heart. You're my favorite.

That ukulele site kicks ass! I forgot to look, but is it also for guitar, or just ukulele? If not, is there a site like it for guitar? That would be amazing..

blue3 10-19-2005 01:40 AM

I wish I owned a ukulele.

My friend gave me the 'Double Fantasy' LP today. Too bad I don't have a record player.

That was lennon's last LP. It was the one he signed for mark david chapman before he was shot.

Recently I've been learning a lot of acoustic songs so when I get an acoustic (hopefully soon), I have stuff to play. Mostly they've been Dylan and Beatles songs, like these ones: Blackbird, Across The Universe, Rocky Racoon, Julia, While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Anthology 3 version  . Julia and WMGGW are probably my favorite to play, mostly because I'm starting to do a lot more fingerpicking.

Yesterday in history I started drawing Magical Mystery Tour. Yea, I'm drawing an album. I'll try to finish it in the next few days and scan it. You'll see what I mean.

Acoustic guitar is so much fun. I love it.

Will the MMT picture be similar to that stuff you posted in the Pink Floyd thread?

Not really, those were all done on Photoshop. This one I'm actually drawing out by hand. It might be similiar to some of these.

That's really cool. You're good at art.

MBS 10-19-2005 06:25 PM

Hey Deus, I know you frequent this thread a lot, just letting you know that I'm uploading the Gilmour + Shimabukuro for you, it'll be up in about 2 hours 'cos my computer is teh slow. :(

Walrus Gumboot 10-19-2005 07:20 PM

You can tell so much about someone by a piece of notebook paper. That would be a great thing to send colleges or something

You are my hero. Thank you so much.

Leper 10-19-2005 11:34 PM

Wow magicbus some of those pictures are really good. I like that Spiderman picture especially.

magicbus 10-19-2005 11:37 PM

Thanks guys. Hopefully my MMT picture will turn out nicely too.

Leper 10-19-2005 11:45 PM

I haven't really drawn any good pictures in a while. Mostly just cartooning. Now a days there are too many other things that draw my attention away from artwork.

blue3 10-20-2005 01:07 AM

Nice drawings. My notebook is filled with doodles and stickmen drawings and nothing like your drawings. MMT would be hard to draw, I think.

DeusExMachina 10-20-2005 03:27 PM

I can't draw at all. I wish I could.
