Well, there are three schools of thought about global warming, and even then you have factions in those schools. It's a very muddled story.

ITS TRUE; ITS TRUE :smash:

Global warming is an irrelevant occurrence. In four years humanity will be united in a single sphere of cohesive cognition in the same way the geosphere and biosphere shaped the grounds for life as we know it. The noosphere is coming.

big80smullet 02-29-2008 02:50 AM

dude i still am not convinced that humans "caused' global warming. i reckon its just part of the earths natural cycle. but hey im not getting into this debate again.

Say Anything are pretty sweet. I found one of their albums on my computer today and had a listen and liked it quite alot

I never said it wasn't. It's funny because even in the camp of non-anthropogenic global warming you have supporters of it actually being good for mankind. The "tomatoes in Sweden" argument.

Never heard of Say Anything. Genre?

i think its both... but politics are too stupid to do anything; they would like to change it, but instead of changing it in 5-10years (which would be possible), it will take them 20-50years.

we had a global warming and a global coldness thousands of years ago too...
Your mum loves it when I "rape" her with a cacti. I've only ever heard her use the safety word once.
Why do you hate me so much Jason?

:upset:

Riva 02-29-2008 02:59 AM

We've had hundreds of warm and cold periods. They're called glaciations and interglaciations, and occur fairly regularly. Even in the past 1000 years we've had "The Little Ice Age" and the "Medieval Warm Period".

EDIT: I don't hate you, C.O.A, I would have made the same joke about anyone's mum.

repcak 02-29-2008 03:00 AM

you know your stuff Jason :)

Riva 02-29-2008 03:02 AM

Hehe, I am just lucky to have had several highly partisan lecturers and a few years of lectures on this topic.

Riva 02-29-2008 03:05 AM

Yes, we're cool.

I just finished Matthew Reilly's Six Sacred Stones. I'm super pissed that it's a two-parter however. I hate waiting on cliff-hangers.

Eliminator 02-29-2008 07:18 AM

i saw a cop pull in our driveway and turn around earlier which kind of freaked me out
but then i remembered that school hadn't even started yet
