I have it beat though. My roommate worked in a kitchen with Chuck Mosley, who was the singer of Faith No More but quit. The next year Mike Patton joined the band and they released The Real Thing and the rest is history.

interesting, to say the least. I haven't listened to any albums post [i]Californication[/i], some of the singles were alright, some not so good I guess.

i've always liked them to some degree, very slowly working through the early part of their discography I haven't listened to. it's fun

I just don't really listen to their kind of style anymore, but I always really liked them up until By The Way, when I finally saw them live.

O well. They made it after Hillel, but failed miserably with Dave Navarro, so this could go either way. I guess this new guy has played with Frusciante on his solo albums and on past Chili Peppers albums so it shouldn't be too much of a departure.
