Who here likes the Cult?
She Sells Sanctuary is a pwning song. Haven't heard anything else by them though :(
I ain't kidding, for every great song The Doors recorded, there's an unlistenable one to even it out. The only real weak link on Straight Outta Compton is Parentel Discretion Iz Advised or 8 Ball.
That doesn't mean the Doors never put out a consistently great record. Their s/t is amazing.

It is. I love Back Door Man.
I saw a documantary that had arguable trace elements of racial tension, but even if it did exist I doubt it lasted long

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians
Do you guys have a bogus story about indians/pilgrims too?
Nah, we stuff ourselves silly without an excuse :o

np: Syd Barrett - Golden Hair

I beg to differ. Break On Through is an excellent song (their best song, IMO), and The End and Back Door Man are both really good, but I'm not a very big fan of the other stuff on the album.
I always got the impression that they were just a little bit racist
Racist?! WTF

Are you stating this because Townshend didn't like Hendrix copying his stage antics? I sure would hope not.
Pfft, try again.
Indeed

Cream trivia:

Martin Sharp, the cover artist for Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire wrote out a poem for Clapton when Clapton told him he needed lyrics to go with music he had written, and the song later became "Tales of Brave Ulysses".

MBS 10-09-2005 06:07 PM

Did he get writing credits for it?

Happy B-Day John Lennon.

Didn't we have an argument in this thread about how Canada stole America's holiday or something last year?

Seafroggys 10-09-2005 06:19 PM

Hey everybody's forgetting someone very special!

Happy b-day John Entwistle!

PinkFreud 10-09-2005 06:20 PM

oooH!

Illmatic 10-09-2005 06:20 PM

Sucks for Entwistle to have the same birthday as Lennon...everyone's forgotten about him :( (myself included, haha)

Yea he got credit for it too.

Albums I listened to today: "Mr. Fantasy" and "All Things Must Pass". They both rule very, very much.

Nah, you're just hallucinating.

Woaah....you know when you eat a ton of food, and then a few minutes later, it hits you, just how much you just took in? I just did that.

Walrus Gumboot 10-09-2005 06:31 PM

My mom must be part Canadian, she had an urge to cook yams for dinner

I bought that album at Tower Records for 26 dollars.

I see it today at Costco for 14.

I wanted to kill myself.

I think my parents are part canadian too, because my mom is making flank steak for dinner.

I just noticed that all my statements start with the word I.

That sounds safe

np: George Harrison - If Not For You (what a great album...and John Lennon and Paul McCartney really thought some of the tracks on this album weren't as good as "Savoy Truffle", "Glass Onion", "Bungalow Bill", or "Piggies"? fugeddaboutit)

I would say that they are better than those

Piggies will be forever tainted in my mind for its connection with Charles Manson

EDIT: Thank's for the HOTRS, Jac

Classic Rock is the best. Like listen to the guitar riffs and stuff in Classic Rock. You just dont here good riffs or lyrics in music anymore, and rap is just gay. My favourite bands are Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd.

It amazes me how many kids actually think this way :-\

Hopefully they'll grow out of it.

JonG 10-09-2005 07:55 PM

Heh. Why do they only read the first post?

np: Pressure Drop

I thought Strange Days was horrible, with the exception of 2-3 songs.

Lunch 10-09-2005 08:00 PM

Well good thing I wasn't talking about Strange Days.
