Jeff Dunham has a certain, limited appeal.
Jeff Dunham has a certain, limited appeal.
Amongst redneck adults that still enjoy puppet shows? What demographic does he perform for, I wonder?

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 10:18 AM

I don't really like a lot of American comedians anyway, the one credit I'll give him is that he's at least entertaining and doesn't draw on the same tired bullshit observations a lot of comedians do.

No, you're right, he is pretty terrible.

FunkMetalBass 09-01-2009 10:37 AM

Jim Gaffigan and Daniel Tosh have to be my two favorite comedians right now. If you haven't heard of either, I strongly recommend that you check them out.

In other news, the more I listen to Coheed and Cambria, the more I notice how similar the bassist and I are in terms of approach, playing style, and use of off-key notes.

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 10:44 AM

I have not. I'm head over heels for flights of the conchords at the moment ^.^

And wishing Bill Hicks wasn't dead, as usual.

Nothing wrong with a bit of off-key notage.

I just ran into their stuff last night, it's great.

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 11:11 AM

The TV series is pretty hilarious. Their band manager is a classic character.

FoC are fantastic.

My guitarist has a custom paint job of Bill Hicks on his Les Paul. I'll see if I can dig up the picture.

Epidemechanical 09-01-2009 11:14 AM

flight of the concords was ****ing stupid to me i watched an episode or something cause everyone loves it so much and i was like "what the **** is this this isnt funny this is retarded"

and i turned it off to watch ted nugent hunt human beings

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 11:14 AM

I'm drinking an "ultra light" beer at the moment, I'm not really sure why. I saw it in the supermarket and thought 'oh wow, this is going to be ****'. Surprisingly, it's not that bad... better than some lights and mids I've had.

It's like 0.5%

Nonono. Watch their live stuff. I really enjoyed their HBO special during "Issues." The lead in is worth it. It's stupid humor, yes, but rather funny.

Lol. Ted cracks me up. He's more American than Chuck Norris.

So basically, non-alcoholic?

Yar, basically. I usually only drink imported stuff, (Australian beer sucks balls bar a few exceptions) and even then I usually prefer boutique beers. This was actually bordering on enjoyable, it's crazy. Has the world flipped and alcohol is suddenly disgusting?

Anyway. sleep.

Mr. Pickle 09-01-2009 01:46 PM

Jeff Dunham has limited appeal? That's really retarded. He's turning out to be one of the largest active comedians working right now. Bill Engvall truly is ****. He's easily the worst of the Blue Collar guys, but that isn't saying much.

Probably because he's not blue collar.

TimJim 09-01-2009 01:47 PM

the whole crew is retarded tbh

:amaze: 09-01-2009 02:14 PM

louis ck ftw

FunkMetalBass 09-01-2009 02:41 PM
louis ck ftw
Yes. I love Louis. He hasn't done anything in a little while though since Dane Cook came to the scene and started ripping off his material.

I miss Mitch Hedberg too.

And I saw Bob Sagget's standup the other night, and I didn't think it was that funny at all. It was a cluster**** of incoherent thoughts that really all revolved around being completely anti-Danny Tanner.

:amaze: 09-01-2009 02:46 PM

**** dane cook. i hate that guy.

ever watch gerry dee? i saw one of his specials the other night and just about died laughing a few times.

FunkMetalBass 09-01-2009 03:18 PM

I've seen Gerry Dee on (if memory serves), The World Stands Up on Comedy Central. Funny, but like most comedians on that show, didn't floor me.

Spaceman Spiff 09-01-2009 03:38 PM

Patton Oswalt
Louis CK
Zach Galifianakis

Killer comedians.

FunkMetalBass 09-01-2009 03:40 PM

Zach is more of a sketch comedian than a standup, IMO. His acting skills are great.

Spaceman Spiff 09-01-2009 03:42 PM
Zach is more of a sketch comedian than a standup, IMO. His acting skills are great.
He's much more of a Mitch Hedberg type of comic in that he writes jokes and such, but not so much bits and routines on certain topics.

Mr. Pickle 09-01-2009 04:23 PM

I'm excited for Section 8.

FunkMetalBass 09-01-2009 04:27 PM

I'm really hoping the guys at SamAsh work with me on this trade I'm going to initiate in an hour.

Aria Pro II Avante 6-string (great condition)
Carvin LB76 (scratch in front, otherwise great condition)
1992 Ibanez Roadstar II Guitar (small body cosmetic issues, great shape otherwise)

for

Spector Legend 6 (closeout)
Michael Kelly Firefly 5-string

Together, both only total $859, so I hope they do it.

Gattsu347 09-01-2009 06:54 PM

doing the final master on my bands first CD tonight. 9 songs.

Epidemechanical 09-01-2009 07:01 PM

are you actually mastering it or do you like just not know what that word means

Epidemechanical 09-01-2009 07:01 PM

in before danny googles "mastering"

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 08:39 PM

Should I accept returns on eBay? Under what conditions? How should I word it?

"Returns within 7 days only if..."

I just don't want to get hosed by somebody who buys it, trashes it that same day, and then tries to claim a refund.

BTW. SamAsh said "no" =(

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 09:10 PM

Are you doing it pickup only? No returns after product is taken, sold as is.

Sending it away take photos of every flaw it has, no liability for damage in transit and only do a refund if it's in original condition and not the postage/shipping costs.

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 09:29 PM

"I ship ConUS only, fully insured, via UPS....

I accept returns for a full refund (less shipping) within 7 days; item must be in original condition."

?

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 09:31 PM

Well that's what I'd do. Having said that, if I was selling something less than $300 I'd probably just say "**** you, no refunds."

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 09:32 PM
Well that's what I'd do. Having said that, if I was selling something less than $300 I'd probably just say "**** you, no refunds."
Starting bid is $350. I'd like to get $400+ s/h out of it.

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 09:36 PM

In good spirit of the Aria sale and Carvin sale (got a buddy that says he'll buy it if I don't sell it by the end of this month), I just took a personal loan out from my savings account to pay for the Spector Legend 6 (SamAsh is clearing out the bubinga versions for $489.00 with free shipping! And, if you use the code DEAT2060, it takes $20 off that total for a whopping $469.00 shipped!). Been wanting one of these for ages and it's finally too cheap to say "no" to. Plus, for ~$300, I can upgrade the electronics to the same ones used in the $5000 US neckthru Spectors.

Aaaand, payday on Friday. wa-w00t.

Spaceman Spiff 09-01-2009 09:41 PM

I want an American Standard Telecaster. I've got more than enough money saved to buy it, I just need some free time to go down and get it.

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 09:51 PM
I want an American Standard Telecaster. I've got more than enough money saved to buy it, I just need some free time to go down and get it.
What color? I don't find the body shape particularly appealing with lighter colors or with black.

Spaceman Spiff 09-01-2009 10:22 PM

I was thinking 3-color sunburst, maple fretboard.
Maybe even the crimson red transparent.
Definitely maple fretboard, though.

funkyhoney 09-01-2009 10:25 PM

Tele's are so overdone though, everyone has one. Get one of those Ibanez H.R. Giger series instead.

Sablate McNuff 09-01-2009 10:48 PM

Definitely go with a dark trans color.
Definitely do not go with a disgusting sunburst.

Convectuoso 09-02-2009 01:55 AM
are you actually mastering it or do you like just not know what that word means

I was thinking the same thing.

It takes years to master mastering. No pun intended. Better if paying someone to do it properly, rather than, uh, turning it up.

gaslight 09-02-2009 02:41 AM

I don't think he's doing it.
