That's not a bad name, but my wife gets to pick the next kid's name because I got to pick our daughter's name. I'll put in a good word though!

If you seriously name your kid after me, I'd rofl for life.

TojesDolan 09-15-2007 03:28 PM

Don't be mean Trevor. :(
Actually it also rhymes with treble. So if you want your kids to play in the G clef you can name them Trevor.

She is really leaning toward Aiden for a boy, but I was hoping for Killian, and Kill as a nickname.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:40 PM

ha, that's funny, my ex (that could change soon...yes, again) wanted to name our kid Aiden, if she ever got pregnant. Which she never did, thank God.

Kids are fun, you'll see.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:46 PM

Yeah, but at this point in my life, a kid would NOT be a good idea for me.

I turn 20 in October. But I say that it wouldn't be a good idea for me because my band is about to start touring 300 days out of the year for our label (more on that later...). So yeah, I'd pretty much have to quit doing the only thing in the world that I am good at to take care of a kid, and I would much rather wait and see if I can establish myself as a musician and make a (somewhat) profitable career out of it. It'll be about 5 years before I will be fully ready to have a kid, I think.

I can understand that. I was in a similar situation a few years back, but I am happy now having a family and playing just for fun.

Yeah. I just wouldn't be able to support a family right now. There's no way I would be able to keep a job because I'd have to quit said job after 2 weeks and either go back on the road or go into the studio. But I like keeping busy and at least I'm doing what I love. It's a good life.

Aidan or Ayden, no?

I have my internet back finally. Huzzzah.

I'm out though, just saying a quick hello. I'm going to see Pocket Dwellers tonight, they're absolutely beastly. It's a full jazz ensemble but with a DJ and MC. I realize that sounds exaclty like the roots, but the slant is more funk/jazz rooted than hip-hop.

I'm stoked, though. It's not all ages, and they have the hottest broads at their gigs for reasons I can't understand.

Holla.

What is your band's name again?

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:22 PM

Get you some, Cokey.
What is your band's name again?
*sigh* With Faith or Flames.

No we are not a Christian band, before you ask. Some of us are Christians in some sense, but no.

Goddamn we get too many emails like that...we got one from a kid today saying "are you a christian band", and we put it in our ****ing FAQ in our blog on myspace, yet people ignore it. We told the kid we weren't and he said "well your name is With Faith or Flames, isn't that like Heaven against Hell?" and I told the kid our old guitarist was high when he came up with the name and even if it WAS, that has no Christian connotations whatsoever, at least in our eyes.

God some people piss me off.

Then we got a kid emailing us saying "It's too bad you guys aren't a Christian band, then I wouldn't have had to throw your CD away". Crazy, crazy people.

Dimmu Burger 09-15-2007 04:31 PM

It's a good name IMO. If you actually think about it, it sounds like being on the fence about religion, but said in a pretty badass way.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:32 PM

Yeah, we are thinking about changing the name actually, and really I think it would be a stupid idea to change the name, especially because we have established ourselves with that name and the name we're thinking about changing it to (Nemesis Enforcer) is even GAYER than With Faith or Flames (I don't know what the other guys are thinking, I just ****ing play guitar haha).

Dimmu Burger 09-15-2007 04:34 PM

I would stick with the established name and save yourself from having to find all of your fans and let them know that you changed your name. It's a pain.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:38 PM

Yeah that's my opinion on it exactly. I think it's retarded to change our name, ESPECIALLY when we are getting signed. Yeah, we'll still have to endure a million "are you guys christians" e-mails, but **** it.

The whole thing that pisses me off about those emails is it seems like the people aren't interested in the music at all. Just if we're Christian or not. It's funny too, because some of the Christian bands we are friends with sort of resent us because they know of our "partying" reputation and think we're hypocrites, but then again, Underoath drinks a shitload of beer on tour so I don't feel bad at all about it. Just goes to show the hypocrisy and idiocy of organized religion..

Only not, because the real number of the beast is closer to 616. :p
