Haha - I think our guitarist already wants the van, but he's poor. To be honest, I'd be happy to put towards it and just have everyone pitch in for a band van.

I am really good with loading cars though. We had two cars which were full of gear, and then I bought a second cab. Nobody believed it would fit until I rearranged it all ;p I have a job getting all my pedals into my pedalboard when I rearrange it though :(

gaslight 08-01-2009 09:34 AM

Haha yeah I enjoy the whole Tetris process too.

Can be rough pitching in for a band van when it comes to what happens to it should the band ever disperse. I think the fair thing to do would be just draw up an agreement whereby if the band breaks up, someone can just buy out the other guys' share of the van or whatever.

fatbandit 08-01-2009 09:36 AM

That's exactly what I liken it to ;p When we've got the van, I'm thinking we also need a driver ^_^

Did you ever download our EP dude?

gaslight 08-01-2009 09:46 AM

Do you ever have the dream where you stack all the gear perfectly, and it disappears into the floor?

'Cause honestly I don't but I'd really proud of my subconscious if I did.

Are you Mae's Lost Empire?

fatbandit 08-01-2009 09:52 AM

There's a reason to stack gear badly if ever I heard one :/

Yeah, that's us D:

gaslight 08-01-2009 10:02 AM

Tetris is such a quintessentially Russian game. There is no way to win, but you can prolong your inevitable demise through incredible difficulty.

So where does that band name come from?

gaslight 08-01-2009 10:25 AM

That's as good a story as any :p.

You could have ended up being called Emily, haha.

fatbandit 08-01-2009 10:28 AM

I think I might float that name change as a proposal at our next practice.

trumpeter 08-01-2009 01:19 PM

O hai gice

gaslight 08-02-2009 01:07 AM

Is it just me or if you go to the Bass Player magazine website (bassplayer.com) and click Subscribe to try and subscribe, that page doesn't work?

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 01:32 AM

I don't know nor am I going to try. Gig went OFF last night man.

gaslight 08-02-2009 01:37 AM

I wanna hear all about it right after you check that site thing for me .

Please :chug:.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 01:41 AM

Fine... I guess.

While I don't like being coerced, in this case I shall make an exception.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 01:42 AM

The subscription form boots up fine for me. However I'm not putting in my details and potentially subscribing just to try it out.

gaslight 08-02-2009 01:48 AM

Oh I didn't want you to try to subscribe or anything.

I don't get a form :(. Now tell me of your sweet gig champ.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 01:51 AM

Haha, get a new browser.

Man it went off, wasn't expecting that good of a turn out, nearly to capacity I'd say. So we'll definitely make some moolah as well. But hell, even if we didn't it was just a great venue, 8x5m stage, great sound guy and good lighting. Just went off without a hitch, everyone getting into it, calling for more songs, was just a great night for all involved.

gaslight 08-02-2009 02:03 AM

I have Opera I shouldn't need a new one .

Nice man, how many people do you estimate? Do you guys have physical copies of your music to sell?

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 02:15 AM

We were supposed to have them ready but they got delayed a week, we should have them this week now. Well I know over 100 because there were that many people before we even started playing (we were headlining). And capacity was 300 I think, I'd say around 200 which was good considering the notice and the fact we haven't played a show in a long time.

gaslight 08-02-2009 02:17 AM

That's heaps awesome dude. Feel free to hit me up if you ever need short runs of something done and packaged, jewel cases or snazzy digipack style things, stuff like that. I do stuff for local bands around here but some interstate action would be pretty awesome. I'll send you a copy of my old band's EP when it's done so you can check out the work.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 02:49 AM

Oh sweet, I'll show you what we've got done when I get it too. Me and the singer used to work with a graphic designer so he took care of this one. We can do shows in Sydney too so if/when we do some down there in support of the guys we know I'll let you know too.

gaslight 08-02-2009 03:42 AM

Wicked man, I do manufacturing rather than design work so when you gig here you should do a tour EP or something. I did do all the design for my old band's one though but I tend to just print/package for people after they've sorted all that out.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 03:46 AM

A tour EP? As in live? That would be sweet. I'm very keen to do some live recordings of some of our new songs either way, even if that's not what you meant.

Do you actually do CD pressing to?

gaslight 08-02-2009 03:52 AM

I do printing and burning of CDs, and whatever packaging is wanted, you know, different kinds of jewel cases, card sleeves, traypacks, slimline cases, polypacks. It's all high end stuff, full colour printing all round not limited colour thermal things and whatnot.

My band's EP will be coming out in a limited edition traypack and if that sells out it'll just be jewel cases from then on. I'm just sorting out some complications with the layout of the lyrics booklet and stuff, I really wanted to release it already but there's always problems with bands hey.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 03:55 AM

Traypacks are those fold out type ones right?

Bands are very picky about what they want, that's for sure :D I usually just blame the singer.. for everything.

That's pretty cool though, I will have to remember that. I'm gonna upload our basic designs that we figured out. They've been refined a bit for the finished product.

gaslight 08-02-2009 03:57 AM

Traypacks are the nice "cardboard" sort of cases. Generally a plastic tray for the CD, glued onto the card that opens/closes like a book. They're usually called a digipack but I've never understood what is so digital about it.

Funny you mention it :p. I'm waiting on an official lyrics transcript. Been a few months :(.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 03:59 AM

Hrmm, well evidently I can't because they're PDF. Oh well. You can wait till we get it.

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 03:59 AM

Ahh right yes I know that, I know those.

gaslight 08-02-2009 04:00 AM

I'll look forward to it dude. How many songs are you putting on there etc?

funkyhoney 08-02-2009 04:00 AM

Yeah, we just didn't put lyrics in ours.

And 5.
