i'm not sure...he probably wrote some of the leads.

GurS 12-29-2004 03:56 PM

well, i think if my memory serves me correctly denis did the lead on charlotte, didn't he? and there's the twin lead on running free. and i think he did the lead on women in uniform aswell.

ashman 12-29-2004 03:59 PM

Dave did the lead on Women in uniform (on the video), Stratton did one solo on POTO, and all the other songs with twin solos...

I WOULD have said that.

And Nicko's only ever used a double-kick pedal once, he didn't like it and has since vowed never to use one again.

rik 12-30-2004 12:12 PM

I thought he used one in out of the silent planet.......probably wrong.

GurS 12-30-2004 12:19 PM

nope, face in the sand and that's it.

ashman 12-30-2004 01:14 PM
I thought he used one in out of the silent planet.......probably wrong.
Mr. 88 Fingers joe can do that with a single pedal...

GurS 12-30-2004 02:38 PM

he can indeed.... **** his good bass drum pedal/technique *shakes fist*

ashman 12-30-2004 02:40 PM

I can just imagine Gur going over to where ever he lives with a chain saw and sawing off his legs :p

btoto 12-30-2004 02:42 PM

D*mn ! Does anyone know which note H picks in Aces High chorus???

ashman 12-30-2004 02:49 PM
D*mn ! Does anyone know which note H picks in Aces High chorus???
The bit with the Dive bomb? I think it could be D, (15th fret on the B string) and then he does like 20 tone dive bomb :p .

D is one of H's favourite notes... :thumb:

btoto 12-30-2004 03:23 PM

^the part where Bruce sings "ruuuun live to flyyy*the note*yyyy"

Ok. is that a pinch harmonic??? In the video he uses his tremolo too. I'll try to do that.

BTW, why don't they play it live??? When was the last time they played it live??? 15 years ago??? I heard that Bruce can't reach a note in that song, but I don't believe that.

thanks, ashman :thumb:

ashman 12-30-2004 03:38 PM

yep, that is the reason why they don't play it anymore...poor Brucie.

I think it is just a dive bomb, I can't actually use the old Tremolo bar, I've tried and failed so many times :(

GurS 12-30-2004 03:43 PM

it's just a dive. i heard 17th on B

ashman 12-30-2004 03:48 PM

That would make more sense, being since the song is in the key of E, like every other Maiden song...

Thunder Fingers 12-30-2004 03:53 PM

actually.. it was played live in 99.. i think we have been through this before...
