You were banned because it says at the beginning not to double post.
You can't complain unfair treatment when you broke a rule. FJ: It used to be a pretty standard thinline tele, in a natural colour. I have/will be changed the neck, swapped and re-positioned the bridge, made the bridge strung thru, routed for a humbucker and a middle reverse angle singlecoil, electronics are as yet undecided. I'm gonna refinish the neck, either all black or just wth a black matching headstock. All black hardware. |
Now I get more scared to post in this community thread...
/thinks about the good old Spamming-The-Lod-Days /dreams away
TBF took on a sexual orientation of a gay manner last night. I read the past 6 pages just now. Disheartening to say the least. He complains so much about spam, but he hasn't had content in the last 40 posts in this thread. edit : a week for a double posting in a thread that gets deleted? I can't complain? how bout you watch me :D |
I think I'm going to buy some Jazz-cd's in a few minutes.
Anyone has some recommendations on good jazz guitarists ??? Like Path Metheny, Wes Montgomery, ... |
Just placed an offer on a little Danelectro Milkshake chorus.
I still really want a Rocktron Tsunami but I can't really be bothered to spend £70 right now when it could be spent somewhere else so if I get this cheap...:thumb: be fine for some low volume "bedroom" use. |

yea, same here. My wait is a bit longer, but i should really hit the books |
I got annoyed by San Andreas, mainly as I couldn't understand everything they said. I think they should release one based in Liverpool or Glasgow or something, that'll teach them damn Americans.
|
i thought the game was easy, but they all are.
I got my girl playing video games because of this title |

so you get banned for double posting in here?
|
yes, yes you do
|
thats kind of lame because they were two completely different responses what with one being the most (confusing and) deep explanation of chord substitution and harmonic theory for jazz outside of the jazz forum's jazz theory thread and the other is a joke with a pal
|
So about this time tommorow I should have my new/used Tele. Which is nice.
And on that note, I'ma play some PS2. |
"Mein Katf" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_D7WtOHZd0&search=monty%20python%20hitler watch this now guys |
ok kurrpt so on that theory another good one for substitutions is the alterations to harmony in jazz
like you have your major ii V I progression and then there is the minor version, which is iib5 Vb9 i and its pretty simple all you do is take the natural minor (so A of C), make that the tonic, and so it goes then Bm7b5 - E7b9 - Am7 this is all very helpful because it explains where you can really use harmonic minor instead of all these shredders wanting to use it for their wanky crap, and a dominant chord with the b9 is easily considered a diminished chord as well (E G# B D F -- F G# B D is a "fully" diminished 7th) so this is just a pretty interesting way for a chord progression to go, you could write an entire song by it (autumn leaves is a good example) all it is is (considering it from the major tonic) viib5 - III - vi - ii - V - I |
man, i wish you could break that down a little further for me
i feel like a moron when i read that |
okay i was going to edit this in but ill put it here
harmony in jazz is the chromatic movement of notes, the reason these "out of key" notes (G# in the key of C, hey) work is because of the tendency of the 7 to resolve to the 3 of the next chord (A of Bm7b5 to G# of E7b9, though it doesnt resolve as nicely to Am7 which is D to C, but close enough) a normal thing to do is to use the first two chords, but resolve to a major 7 chord (so with that, AC#EG# makes that D to C# much nicer)-- which is how things can modulate easily in jazz the most used progression is the ii V I, which is what follows from the above "bigger" progression i gave you up there-- and from yesterday, you know that vi is a sub for I (ACEG vs CEGB -- its just C6 instead of CM7) so in C the harmony goes a little more smoothly than the minor version (purely because i dont want to work with minMaj7 chords because theyre great and annoying to me at the same time) 7th of ii (Dm7's C) to 3rd of V (G7's B) 7th of V (G7's F) to 3rd of I (CM7's E) that is the basics of how the progression in harmony works |
that made a lot more sense actually, thanks :thumb:
