Clapton, 'cause he played lead on "While my guitar gently weeps" otherwise I would've called it a draw.
If they're any type of hard rock, they're glam. It's a pretty loose definition though, they never had shouty choruses and Astbury was always too busy singing about American Indian ninjas or whatever to write proper glam party tunes. Bob Rock produced the band around the time he produced Motley Crue, so...
As far as sound goes, they're half 70's rock (Zeppelin, Deep Purple), half goth-rock. They seem to switch easily.
So, they're almost Glam-Rock by default? What a shame. |
In Hey Jude, John yells "Oh F$(%!" quite loud...
|
That's our Johnny!..
/will never refer to John Lennon as "Johnny" ever again. |
My write up for John Lennons bithday
65 years ago, a legend was born, sparked by music he created the Quarrymen, later the Beatles, a band the wold impact a world in the 60's and later on, for 3 decades the beatles still have a huge following and devoted fans, 25 years ago John Lennon was shot by Mark David Chapman, this impacted the world in such a way that would never be forgotten, Lennon's soul still lives on in the hearts of Peace-Activist's, Beatles followers, and aspiring musicians, he will never be forgotten.I wasnt alive when Beatles were a band, or when John was still alive, but i still feel so miserable about his death. Happy birthday John Winston Lennon and may you rest in peace All im lsitening to today is the Beatles, every single song is the Beatles on my playlist. |
Hmm, I think I seen that pot somewhere before.
|
So, how good is the Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus?
|
I used to listen to it everyday after I bought it but I havent listened to it fully for about 2 weeks.
|
When I Touch You is like one of my favorite songs ever.
|
Well, I'm new here, so I figured I'd just start off. I'm Dirk, and as you can tell from the avatar Bob Dylan's one of my favorite musicians. My personal favorite band is early Pink Floyd (pre Dark Side), and I'm a fan of most classic rock. I'm going to a Paul McCartney concert with Mr. Blue Sky in November...
Hey, new guy  I'm a Dylan fan too. |
Quitting weed?....hopefully you don't plan on quitting forever. If you quit for a few months, and let your parents know that you've quit...they'll totally start trusting you and all that crap again. It's weird, my parent's haven't trusted me about anything for about three years now....basically every night I turn into a refugee because I'm doing something illegal, I have to sneak into my own house at night several times a week.
I'm thinking forever.....it's like everyone's aginst it now. Like 3 of my best friends quit all together and maybe 4 after this arrest, my best friend is now going to be followed by a cop (if he ever gets got with weed again they're going to supposedly put him in prison for 2 years), my family is still bitching at me for smoking, I lost my pipe and my bud that could still be hidden in this house and I'm getting drug tested....I mean it all points to why I should quit. :upset:
My personal favorite band is early Pink Floyd (pre Dark Side),
What do you mean? Do you mean the Syd Barrett Pink Floyd or the Meddle - SoS era?
Which leads to the inevitable question... Clapton or Hendrix?
What an easy question.....Hendrix by miles! I seriously don't get what's soooo great about Clapton. His playing is boring to me...... |
I would have to say Hendrix also. I thought Townsend and Clapton hated Hendirx
Can I get someone to upload whatever Animals album "House of the Rising Sun" is on in .mp3 or .wma? |

Its John Lennons birthday? I didn't know. So I was at Meeting today (Quaker church) and this kind I know who's a few years younger than me had the coolest John Lennon shirt on. I also had When I'm Sixty Four stuck in my head this morning. Drove me nuts.

Well at times, Townshend hated his stage antics since he stole the Who's act. |

That's one of my favorite Beatles songs. np: Dexy's Midnight Runners - C'Mon Eileen :upset: |

I always got the impression that they were just a little bit racist |
I never considered that a factor at all.
|
Ya, I really don't think that had anything to do with it...
(P.S Happy thanksgiving to all the other canadians) |
I saw a documantary that had arguable trace elements of racial tension, but even if it did exist I doubt it lasted long
Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians Do you guys have a bogus story about indians/pilgrims too? |
I saw a documantary that had arguable trace elements of racial tension, but even if it did exist I doubt it lasted long
Interesting, I've never seen anything that suggested that. Do you remember what documentary it was?
Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians Do you guys have a bogus story about indians/pilgrims too?
It's just an excuse for everyone to get together and have awesome food. |
That's what it basically is in America now too.
|
That's what it basically is in America now too.
I figured. I don't really know about the history of thanksgiving. But I'm not complaining, I even get tommorow off! |
It was some documentary at the school, I'll look it up after Columbus Day
I would expect Canadians to have Viking Day instead of Columbus Day The history of it really is that nearly every world religion celebrates the Harvest and fall equinox through various fesivals with religous/cultural explinations It's kind of Druidic, I think |
It was some documentary at the school, I'll look it up after Columbus Day
I would expect Canadians to have Viking Day instead of Columbus Day
Sweet. When's colombus day? We don't have colombus day... If anything we should have Cartier or may Cabot daysomething though. |
Well done. The Doors>GanstA rap
Straight Outta Compton is so vastly superior to any album The Doors ever put out. I'd take Hendrix over Clapton. Overall, Clapton was just a little too vanilla. |
Straight Outta Compton is so vastly superior to any album The Doors ever put out.
Pfft, try again. |
Sweet. When's colombus day? We don't have colombus day...
If anything we should have Cartier day or something though.
Tomorrow, it's a rather pathetic excuse to celebrate being Italian, one of the less-successful minority related holidays, clearly pwned by Cinco de Mayo and St. Patrick's Day, which is probably because Columbus was an *** Plus it is getting in on the October Fest time of year |
Pfft, try again.
I ain't kidding, for every great song The Doors recorded, there's an unlistenable one to even it out. The only real weak link on Straight Outta Compton is Parentel Discretion Iz Advised or 8 Ball.
Tomorrow, it's a rather pathetic excuse to celebrate being Italian, one of the less-successful minority related holidays, clearly pwned by Cinco de Mayo and St. Patrick's Day, which is probably because Columbus was an ***
And we got Martin Luther King Day  |
We never have Columbus day off.
