BludgeonySteve 10-08-2005 09:02 PM

Well done. The Doors>GanstA rap

Glitterati 10-08-2005 09:27 PM
Well done. The Doors>GanstA rap
Indeed.

Unless it's Ice Cube.

BludgeonySteve 10-08-2005 09:38 PM

I still think that The Doors are better than Ice Cube.

Seafroggys 10-08-2005 09:57 PM

Saw the Doors movie just now. Man it was weird.

When I went into Hollywood video to rent it, I also checked up on the Cream DVD and of course they don't have it. Is there a place where I could rent it or something?

Lunch 10-08-2005 10:03 PM
I got the Cream Reunion DVD today. I watched most of the first disc, and it's pretty good. It kinda bothers me that everyone in the first row is sitting still as a stone, meh.
Yea, I got it yesterday. Aside from the lame audience, the music is really strong. It doesn't have the fire of the prime Cream (obviously it wouldn't, I wasn't expecting it to) but it still rocks.

PinkFreud 10-08-2005 10:10 PM

im planning on getting it tomorrow

magicbus 10-08-2005 10:36 PM

I'm gonna pick it up in the next few days. I didn't know it was out already.

PinkFreud 10-08-2005 10:41 PM

heh. me neither. stupid me.

Leper 10-08-2005 11:11 PM

Who here likes the Cult?

Leper 10-08-2005 11:28 PM
I do. They were a great band for a time. Ian Astbury has a stunning voice.
Ya I really like his voice too. Can't understand the lyrics half the time, but I do like his voice. They always strike me as just a very hard working, quality hard rock band.

Fnnrqwin 10-08-2005 11:46 PM

Well, I'm new here, so I figured I'd just start off. I'm Dirk, and as you can tell from the avatar Bob Dylan's one of my favorite musicians. My personal favorite band is early Pink Floyd (pre Dark Side), and I'm a fan of most classic rock. I'm going to a Paul McCartney concert with Mr. Blue Sky in November...
Who here likes the Cult?
I like them , Sweet Soul Sister is cool.
I think they are the only glam rock band that i actually like.

I'll just have to find someone else to dropkick. :(

Does anyone else notice in Hey Jude by the Beatles, someone (John) yells OH then mumbles something. Around 2:55 in the song. It's kind of funny.

NP: Little Wing - Derek and the Dominos

Edit: What's everyone's favorite cover songs? This one is pretty good.

This one I mean the song up there ^

Are the Cult really considered Glam? I've never actually seen them, so I don't know what their clothing etc. looks like, but they don't really sound like a Glam band to me..

They are considered Heavy Metal, but their clothing are glam, and some songs are hair metal oriented(wich is mainly glam rock).

I think that's John saying "oh ****" (or maybe another profanity) because he missed the line.

MBS 10-09-2005 12:08 AM

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

I thought it was interesting that Clapton basically worshipped the ground Hendrix walked on.

I also heard somewhere that Clapton started using a strat because of Hendrixs' death.

Which leads to the inevitable question...

Clapton or Hendrix?

Me: Clapton.

heavy metal kid 10-09-2005 12:09 AM

Me: Hendrix

PinkFreud 10-09-2005 12:13 AM

clapton for his playing, but hendrix for his writing skills.

my favorite covers are stevie ray vaughan's cover of little wing, faith no more's cover of easy like sunday morning, and cream's version of crossroads.

i like lots of covers though.

MBS 10-09-2005 12:15 AM

Yeah, Crossroads is an excellent track.

I think Stevie's cover is really good, the way he turned it into a instrumental.
