Seafroggys 08-14-2006 01:59 AM

Doctor Who all the way!

Janeway 08-14-2006 02:06 AM

Does Doctor Who have Jeri Ryan in skin tight spandex suits?

I don't think so.

Jezen 08-14-2006 02:07 AM

Star Wars is the only sci-fe im into really. It's probably the least nerdy. Rather than discuss gadgets, you can discuss story line. Stargate has some horrible acting anyway.

Jezen 08-14-2006 02:12 AM

Haha! EMO SHOP!

Holla biddies, I havent been on mx in forrevverr

Janeway 08-14-2006 02:21 AM

The least nerdy? Are you kidding?

Star Wars is one of the biggest fandoms in the world. The plot isn't original at all. It's just a very basic, old storyline that we've seen hundreds of times before, but portrayed in a different way. What makes it so good are the characters, settings, creatures, and the huge, expansive environment that the movie provides.
People get so totally obsessed over it because it will never end. You can make hundreds of movies, write thousands of books, and it will never get old because the entire universe is so totally huge.

Edit: Ooh, I got off point.
I mean, that induces so much nerdiness that it's not even funny. It has got to be one of the geekiest fandoms in the world, save the Bible.

trysthedrummer 08-14-2006 04:00 AM

I've never gotten into those scifi amercian programmes like babylon, star trek and stargate. I do love CSI and things like that though. Class.
Someones not too educated on the native peoples of north america...it IS in Canada, in Alberta in fact (my province). We have plains 'indians' not just the inuit (aka eskimos), well you are in the UK, so I can almost forgive your ignorance. Canadas not some frozen wasteland, its a much more varied country then the UK, I dont think there are any deserts in the UK.
Its actually named for a kid that got crushed by a buffalo falling, not actually for the buffalo even though it was a buffalo jump.

Its called 'Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump', btw.
Hah, if the UK is ignorant then whats the US?
And don't blame me, either blame the channel 4 documentry video on the american west, my history teacher, of the british education system. Or the fact i slept through the video pretty much.... that's all i do in history, sleep, it's so boring. Well, actually, it wouldn't be boring if i had a better teacher, but my teacher can't make anything remotly interesting so i just go to sleep.

Episode 4-6 (the original Star Wars) is pretty cool, it has some great characters and is a pretty entertaining fairy-tale (if that's the word i'm looking for) - the newer episodes suck on the other hand, i don't want that Wimp of anakin skywalker to become Darth Vader - what an insult (the reason, i haven't seen Episode 3 yet)

I don't know if it's nerdy, i guess it starts to be if you run around as stormtrooper, or collect all the merchandise that is available.
But on that point, everything is nerdy.
When i went to the premier of Lord of the rings, there were several people with elven-ears and i spotted saruman more than once, every big following has a somehow nerdy following... speakingof that, can't you convert to jedi in England?

NCDrummer 08-14-2006 05:39 AM

yah thats more fitting i gues
