I hate when people won't listen to a band because of screaming. "I like the music, but I can't stand all that ra ra ra ra!!"

I mean if I'm talking to people that are on a level to interprate the word "screamo" that way, I'd rather communicate the meaning in one word than have to use a term like "metalcore" and then be asked to explain it.

If I know a person isn't into that kind of music I just don't bring up any of that kind of music really. I rarely talk to music retards about music anyways.

Yeah people on here are the only people I know that get all particular about screamo genre labeling.

I don't really talk to any one I know about music. I have one friend that listens to stuff like Them Crooked Vultures and Bring me the Horizon, and every one else just digs on Lil Wayne and techno.

Lol yeah I don't know too many folks personally who like lots of good music, just a few bands here and there.

i have a few friends that are into tech death and stuff like mastodon and kylesa, but they tend to be elitists about the death metal they listen to, which is lol considering they jizz over crack the skye

I know a couple of people that refer to Metalcore and most sub genres of Metal as 'screamo', it's mostly just friends who listen to folk and scene fags though.

i like them a lot too, but i can't listen to them all day every day like they tend to do

lol yeah I have a friend from work who will listen to heavy stuff but he's all about the ABR, I Set My Friends On Fire and every other really generic scene band out there.

i have one friend who i can talk hard rock with, then two friends who i can talk death, prog, thrash, sludge metal with, then a friend who i can talk prog rock with so four friends is pretty good. the rest are not open enough to listen to anything outside of the mainstream media

My girlfriend's brother asked me if I was into screamo and I was like "yeah" and got all excited thinking I could talk to someone about it and all, then he was like "oh, do you like I Set My Friends On Fire?" and I died a little on the inside. :(

A few of my friends have good music tastes. Me and phil are gig partners becuase our music taste is almost exactly the same (except he doesn't listen to lady gaga, grind or any mid-west emo/indie bands the faggot).
