Parts of Somewhere in Time seem fast (drumwise)
I think that song might be the fastest actually. |

some pretty fast 'kin galloping there... |
Iron Maiden Rocks
I went to their show last time they came to montreal for the give me ed till im dead dead and they havent lost their touch. I also bought the new dance of death album, which is still great. They can still insert those powerful melodic rifs in their songs as well as that special coordination wich makes them so good. Also, they didnt change their style of music to match the gay nu metal **** and pop-punk that really sells right now.
IRON MAIDEN IS THE BEST BAND THAT EVER EXISTED AND THAT WILL EVER EXIST! If u want to reply to my post send me a mail at hippiemusiciscool@hotmail.com |
i say drumwise the intro to gangland's probably the fastest.
or the triplets in out of the silent planet (who DIDN'T expect me to say that?) |
...of the silent planet (who DIDN'T expect me to say that?)
Possibly some of the n00bites
some pretty fast 'kin galloping there...
Can you play that Galloping? I can't, I can manage about a minute, and then my fingers die... |
Probably the fastest is Man On The Edge or Aces High............for drum parts
|
I just downloaded the Rainmaker video......IMO it's the best Maiden video I've ever seen
|
i still say gangland
|
Oh, How dare I forgot good old Transylvania ?!
|
Hey does someone have a link to an *accurate* transcription for the drum intro (or even the whole song) to "Where Eagles Dare?" All of the tabs I've seen are a very simplified (just triplets between snare and toms) version which don't show the snare flam, roll across snare/tom or simultaneous tom hits which it sounds like Nicko does. Something in standard notation would be best, but an accurate tab would also work. Thanks!

I've heard lots about Iron Maiden, but I've only heard a few of their songs (fav. is the Trooper) can anybody recomend me some good songs?
|
^Of course, here you go:
1. Aces High 2. Sanctuary 3. Man On The Edge 4. Transylvania (instrumental) 5. Children Of The Dammned 6. Innocent Exile 7. Be Quick Or Be Dead 8. Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter 9. Fortunes Of War 10. Phantom Of The Opera :thumb: |

Can you play that Galloping? I can't, I can manage about a minute, and then my fingers die...
yeah, i can play it.. i have never learned it completely so i usually play along out of key :p i learn more and more every time i do it though... :p |
caught somewhere in time is IMO probably one of maidens best, and one of my favourite tracks. i love the bass line, its just amazing. also the bass in number of the beast kicks a$$, a classic bass line.

All of Steves Basslines are kick arse...except for Wasted years...not really a bass line :naughty: |
I reccomend getting Iron Maiden's self-titled cd. Every song is awsome on it and I listen to that CD moreso than just about any other. I think Paul Dianno was an excellent vocalist with fantastic vocal range. All the riffs are extremely catchy such as the ones in Phantom of the Opera and the chorus of Remember Tommorow.

Some people like it and some (Steve Harris) say the Production is crap :thumb: |
production wise it ain't to good.
IMO BNW had the best production on it. |
Best production? Live at Donnington... oh yeah! BASS! :D
of the studio albums... Powerslave and Somewhere in time... |
I think the production on RiR is pretty poor, there is this horrible noise on NOTB...probably from Janick :P
|
I got a 14/15 on my friends Early Days Maiden quiz. What did you guys get?
|
I got a 14/15 on my friends Early Days Maiden quiz. What did you guys get?
Huh? Where is that? |
On one of the Discs in Early Days it says quiz.
|
I'll have to take a look see, maybe I missed it...
|
on the cheap unofficial dvd "legacy of the beast", there's a quiz. I got everything right first time. without even watching the documentary.

i like it, and still think the production is crap. great songs though. also, wasted years may not have much of a bassline but i still love it. |
The first CD is my favourite and like it's production. It's bloody good for 1980. Oh yes, and it's got Paul and Clive on it. :thumb:
BTW, was Dave the only soloist on that album or Denis also wrote some leads??? |
