I'm sorry but i would not be able to do that for more than 5 minutes.
Do they take any notice of the parts that contradict other parts of the bible?
well technically, if you think about it

its a tranlation, of a translation, of a translation, of a translation...

i tend to credit that to most of the contradictions
I voluntered at a BibleSchool for little kids over the summer. Me and my friend spent the time in the gym playing basketball and listening to classic rock. Our job was to make sure kids don't choke and die during snack time. That was only once a day for 20 minutes. thank the lord. The other 4 hours we had to our selves and got 20 hours each for our graduation requirments.
i totally bullsh!tted my community service. I told them i helped build the local skate park, and i jotted down like 50 hours...

technically, i qualified for "senior open campus" which allowed me to sign out of the school on lunches and open periods. I didnt feel like filling out the paper work, so i just left whenever the hell i wanted

the day everyone got busted for that, thankfully i had no money, so i didnt go out.

SUCKERS!

...my parents. :upset: I come from a devoutly Catholic family.
Same here
well atleast your not a Jehovahs witness. Those peopel are hardcore to the extreme maximum limit.
Hahahaha. One time I scared off a group of those people off my porch by talking with a lisp, grabbing my dad's whiskey bottle from the pantry, screaming upstairs that I'll be right up to take it in the ass, and said that God sucks and that they're all going to Hell anyway.
Until I was confirmed my parents forced me to go to church every Sunday. I pretty much never go now, though I plan to go on Christmas. I think there's some good that can come from going to church.. you learn discipline, you get an hour to reflect upon yourself, you get better posture.. you may even get a nap.
I laughed at this. Hahahaha.

I have to go to church every Sunday and on holidays. Luckily, midnight mass is Saturday night/Sunday morning, so that's good. I always go to midnight mass for Christmas.

However, when I'm at uni, I don't go every Sunday, and I go to some non-denominational church where it's just an extended homily for an hour.

Josh 12-21-2005 03:57 PM

on the religion theme: my parents are christians, my grandparents on my mothers side are ex- Salvation army, and my grandparents on my dads side are Masons. i used to have to go to church every sunday, it wasn't exactly fun but i didn't mind it. i spose i'm kind of christian, in that i believe in god, pray occasionally, but i try not to let it rule my life.

haha, that's quite the mix. What exactly do masons believe in?

Really? I'm glad I'm not alone then. :) I didn't know you were Catholic.

I'm always in church. Every Sunday plus holidays, not to mention the masses and services (with constant praying) held at my school and all of the things my parents try to shove down my throat. Sadly, my parents tried so hard to get me into religion that I grew to hate it because of them.

Deconstruction 12-21-2005 04:00 PM

My parents are christian but I tend to question the church vs. the religion. As in I believe in a greater power but I wouldnt describe it as they do.

I've recently started following a similar direction.

i find it annoying when people say that the only way to reach god is through the church and all that, it just doesn't seem right when apparently we're all supposed to find god our own way, the church as just one way.

anyway, no more school now for 2 weeks :) and a party on friday as well. of course, massive christmas dinner is always good as well, but i'm not expecting a lot of presents, as i'm 1 of 4 children, and i know my brother's present cost £150.

Shattered_Future 12-21-2005 04:10 PM

There's probably somebody there to keep you from screwing up your life TOO much, but not as much as the Church thinks.

Shadows 12-21-2005 04:12 PM

In case of discrepency, be a Deist. AP European history showed me that that's basically the safe route in religion.

Woah, this is cool. Mx is adding links in ever music forum to the corresponding section in sputnik. It's good to be a reviewer.

CaptainWaits 12-21-2005 04:13 PM

Did those new CD review sub-forums just get put up?
