Aussie Floyd tonight.
Aussie Floyd tonight :)
I just dropped a lot of cash to see Roger Waters live in Boston this summer, so part of me wishes it doesn't happen...I'd feel stupid about buying tickets for Waters when I could have held on and waited for the Floyd reunion.
No don't worry, he puts on an awesome show.

He absolutely does. I wanted to get tickets for his Hartford show in July, but by the time the WEEK LONG presale ended there were only mediocre pavilion seats left. I had seen him last year in Mansfield, MA so if I was to go this year it would have been with closest to front row I could get. Oh well, I'm sure the money will be put to some other good use...

TheDarkHorse 03-23-2007 08:08 PM

yeh

MrConeman 03-24-2007 03:37 PM

Aussie Floyd were amazing last night.
I've seen them three times now and this time was without doubt the best one I've seen.

the first time I seen them they played all of DSotM and then some classics after, and it was great. But this time they played alot of stuff they've never been playing before and even a few obscure tracks.

They played Astronomy Domine, Set the Controls..., Nobody Home, On the Turning away, Sheep, Pigs

Aswell as the obvious ones like Wish you were here, Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, Time etc.

The crowd were so much more into it this time, loudly singing along, and three standing ovations were given! (one for the girls singing Great Gig, one for the solo in Comfortably Numb, and then one at the end)

They are currently touring the U.K (last night was the first u.k show of the tour), if you get the chance, DO NOT miss it.

rippa32 03-27-2007 06:26 PM

I really should see them sometime, how much was tickets?

Riva 03-27-2007 07:26 PM

I know that Beyond The Darkside is touring Australia again, Rippa, and it was $49 when I saw them last year, I believe.

rippa32 03-28-2007 04:08 AM

Are they any good?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-28-2007 04:11 AM

Considering it's $49 for a tribute show, you'd want to think so.

Riva 03-28-2007 06:46 AM

You could close your eyes and think it was the real thing, except they played too much post-Waters stuff, which made sense since the lead guitarist/vocalist sounded like Dave more than Roger. Fantastic laser show and props too. As good as Aussie Floyd (which was like $69, I think)

MrConeman 03-28-2007 10:41 AM

Aussie Floyd was £24 (note pounds, I dunno how much that is in Aus-land)

MattSharpIsCool 03-28-2007 12:51 PM

I'd be weary to pay more than $25 to see a tribute band. From what I hear, they're pretty good, but still.

MrConeman 03-28-2007 02:20 PM

This probably sounds dumb. But seriously, its different for Aussie Floyd.
I usually avoid going to see trib bands because its usually tacky wigs and some crap bar with terrible sound.

But they really go all out. I'm sure you've heard it all before though.

MattSharpIsCool 03-28-2007 02:26 PM

Ya I think I've seen a couple clips of them, and don't get me wrong, they do a really good job. It's just, that's a lot of money for a cover band.

MrConeman 03-28-2007 02:33 PM

Yer. I see your point.
I guess its easy for me, It's kind of a family thing, we all go every year and its a great night out.

I'd still rather fly to outer mongolia alone if I had the chance to see the real Floyd. :(

LF96 03-29-2007 11:49 AM

My girlfriend and some other friends of mine will be seeing the Aussie Floyd at Rock Werchter. But since I find 160 euros a bit too much for a festival that only offers a few interesting bands and a whole bunch of crappy commercial bands, I won't be going. Nonetheless, I'll still be jealous that she saw them and I didn't.:)

Dragon_Prince 03-29-2007 12:07 PM

Rockwerchter has a very good line up this year :O you should go

-1up!- 04-02-2007 09:35 AM

Pink Floyd's original lineup (Waters - Gilmour - Wright - Mason) coming to Montreal in September.

At least that's what many people around me are saying. I dearly hope it comes true.

Yield 04-02-2007 10:09 AM

The original lineup included Barrett...but he is dead!

-1up!- 04-02-2007 10:34 AM

Forget it. It was an April Fool's joke by a local radio station. I can tell you countless fans of Floyd, including friends of mine, cried over learning it was a joke.

Lunch 04-02-2007 10:41 AM

Haha pwnt

Apocalyptic Raids 04-02-2007 10:56 AM

Hahaha, that's a good one.

Yield 04-02-2007 11:27 AM

 Good one

As soon as I read his post I started contemplating the trip.

Riva 04-02-2007 05:39 PM

Yah, same here. And I live a bloody ocean away.

TojesDolan 04-02-2007 05:40 PM
