I would like to be an author.

And when I say author, chances are what I really mean are "some dirty dude that lives in a room with a questionable water supply, writing 'life is like a thorny rose' and then crumpling up the paper over and over again."
You don't want to be a musician?

You should pursue that, you are really talented.

Riva 04-25-2005 01:22 AM

I guess being a musician and being an author go hand in hand, which is one area where Lucas is very lucky. Same applies to any musician/actors or musician/painters.

I'm afraid being a chemistry student doesn't complement an artistic side at all. :(

ArcLite 04-25-2005 01:29 AM

I decided to put big money aside and do something I'd enjoy. I'd rather be doing something with my hands and make 50k than sit behind a desk for the rest of my life making 100k. Plus I'm mentally lazy, hence why I joined the Army. I despised the thought of another 4 years of school so I went with a different option.

You'd be surprised as to what is considered art, nowadays. :)

Right guys, i just woke up and am now off to school. Doing my GCSE English presentation to my teacher to :/ I did it on the similarities between 'The Ghost In The Shell' and 'The Matrix.' I just chose a topic she will know nothing about.

Getting the mic soon, Chris. Never despair. ;)

But yeah, this trip to UK will probably be my only overseas trip for this decade. :-/

All you North American and elsewhere MXers will have to fly to Cairns. We can go to the reef, go shark hunting, boar hunting, it'll be good times all round.

That sounds amazing. I'd love to do that.

Chris, my demo of Acoustica Mixcraft ran out today. I tried to re-download it but those bastards wouldn't let me.

Well, Tom Araya called me and said he'd do vocals for me, but I said I'm waiting on my Aussie buddy. As long as you get it sometime this year I'll call Tom back and tell him it's covered:). And you know I'm down for some Outback adventures. Perhaps someday I'll make it out there and we can go kill things together. Good Times.

Wow, I've recently become addicted to The Sims, again. Something about the whole ability to control these little people, to either make or break their lives, hopes, relationships... it's great. The best thing ever is getting them to fix the broken fridge, see them get electrocuted, and get them to plead with the Grim Reaper for life. Good times.

I've also been playing a lot of SimCity 4 and Pharoah. Again, the control is on a bigger scale, and so is the destruction. :)

there is something oddly rewarding about locking a sim in the swimming pool or putting a fence around them and watching them shit themselves and die

Still planning on getting Halflife? Then we can kill Nazi's together in Day of Defeat. I've never played the Sims. I guess I spend too much time with my first person shooters. Did you read my review in Vince's concert thread?

You know how you start the game with Bella Goth and her husband and kid? I wanted to keep her, but move in a guy of my own, and get rid of the kid and the husband. So I moved those two upstairs, and then removed the staircase. ;)

I have House Party, which means I can invite everyone over to get (sim) drunk and ride that mechanical bull. It's cool.

the mourning if they die is irritating- they stop to cry at the ashes every time they pass it by
God, I haven't played the sims for ages-I lost the **** installation code

Late response to Chris, Chris and Jason: I would love to be a musician as well and I appreciate the compliments. I'm going to see what happens at school in that regard. I'm basically going to try and do everything I can do music-wise while I'm still at school and am garunteed a home, food, money, and an education. I understand how difficult it is though, and will soon turn my thoughts to writing after college. I figure I can support myself easily enough for at least a few years in a slightly-above entry-level job, and I don't intend to get married until I have a clear idea of what my ultimate situation is likely to be, probably towards the end of my twenties. When I get married, I'll do the other things as much as I can--I'll probably be happy just continuing to create music or fiction even if I'm not making money with it--but at that point it'll be time to find the more "realistic" option.

Here's hoping I become a rock star, then. ;)

Time for class, guys. Later.

Damn it! I just missed you!

EDIT:

I forgot to make mention, in comp app (currently attending the class) we are (I was) working on buisiness projects, I just finished my Black/Death metal store, and it's hilarious, I have weird vague allusions to Cannibal Corpse and Cryptopsy all over it, plus, the teacher allowed me to use the name "The Bubonic Plague" and I have the army of Zombies from R2R's cover as my logo  .

Shred Danson 04-25-2005 08:56 AM

Ah, victory is mine!

As most of you know, my parents and I have been in an epic struggle against each other over my freedom. I was to be moving on my own paying for a plane ticket with my own money last week, but that money wa refunded, and after talkin with my grandmother in Kentucky, my dad sat my older brother (who's moving out this year to go to college in New Jersey) and I down and told my brother "June 15, you're moving out to Kentucky until you go to college" at that point, I was like 'yeah, you're gettin' kicked out, bitch" and my dad then proceded to tell me that I was going with him, to which I replied with a loud, effective "BITCHIN'!" So, June 15, it's a road trip to freedom, from Illegal-Immigration-laden California to the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. I'm so fuckin' elated right now.

Congrats, ICB. It's about time you figured on when you're going.

Three more days of uni

Today is going to be as all hell, though:

Finish writing classics conversation
Study for educ final
Study for history final
Go to office hours for classics so the profs can make me feel like crap by tearing apart my paper
etc.

I need to 3.3 this paper in order to 3.0 the class :-\

You sure do finish the school year pretty early. We've got testing up our anus this week, man. The school's pressuring us to do better this year because they don't want to be taken over under the No Child Left Behind Act, because we've failed the past two years, but I don't give two shits and a wet hairy cunt about this school. So I'm doing my part  Plus, I'm moving so it really doesn't affect me. I win. Catheral City High School loses.

Three days...wow, you do realise they will absolutely DRAG by?!.
It's always the way, heh.
I'm in year ten now (In English highschools there are like 5 "Seinor" years, 10 is the second to last), but the year above us are breaking up this May, dirrectly after their exams.
SO! That means, school, well, forced education, will officially end for me in around a year, and I can't wait, I don't actually know what I want to do yet, I'll possibly go to university, 6th Form or Colleage... *Thinks*
Eh, anyway.
How is everyone?
I'm rocking out to Black Sabbath (the album, and coincidentally the song) at the moment, which reminds me...I really should put more effort into learning my instrument...eh
