How is everyone tonight?
|
Still bummed over the U of M/State game, and bummed that I have a math exam tomorrow, but happy that I'm about to eat ice cream. If we don't have any, I'll be bummed again though.

Quite well, Mr. Krabsman. |
Magicbus you might like my new Howlin' Wolf CD/?
I think that would cheer me up just fine :) By the way, I have yet to get the new Buddy Guy cd, but I will upload it when I do. NP: Derek & The Dominos - Bell Bottom Blues EDIT: Krabsmen, what kind of pickups do you have on you guitar? |
Least Fave: Any gay/lesbian/minority comedians who base their entire act around that
*cough*Mind of Mencia*cough* Seriously, that show sucks so much. |
Ehh Lace Sensors, why?
I saw your guitar in that picture thread, and they looked like Lace Sensors. I thought I'd make sure. |
haha, no/
The were just metioned on Family Guy though. EDIT-In regards to Journey
That was great. It made me want to listen to that song. Then I downloaded it, listened to it, and remembered why I hate Journey. |
haha, i blast that song here. people in my hall love it. we have sing alongs. that and boston's more than a feeling with some frampton thrown in. "baby, i love your way," is perfect.
np: black sabbath - symptom of the universe |

np: black sabbath - symptom of the universe
Anyone ever seen High Fidelity? In one of the scenes, the three guys from the record store (played by John Cusack, Jack Black, and Some Guy) are seeing some local singer perform at a club. The singer, played by Lisa Bonet (who is a legitimate fox), does a version of "Baby, I Love Your Way" and the three of them are mesmerized, which leads to this exchange: John Cusack: "You know, I used to hate this song" Jack Black + Some Guy (mesmerized by Bonet): "Yeah." Cusack: "But now I kinda like it" JB + SG (still mesmerized): "Yeah." |
ive never seen it, but its one of those movies that people tell me i NEED to see.
i just noticed how cool the song oh! darling is. pauls voice is magnificent. its great on golden slumbers too. discussion on awesome classic rock vocal performances? |
He's not classic rock, but Sam Cooke is the best singer. Ever.

Paul's voice is exceptional on that song, it is so powerful in evoking emotion. |
Paul is awesome on Helter Skelter too, really if you think about it his voice is awesome on all Beatles songs.

I really should read the book |

shouldnt you be in school? ive always thought that books were better than movie adaptations, bar very few. i disliked the lord of the rings movies, but then again, i disliked the books too. fight club was ok, but then they made the ending very hollywood. it messed up the philosophy a bit. actually, i think the best book to movie adaptation is either the shawshank redemption (one of my favorite movies of all time) or sin city. both are remarkably faithful to the books. |

NP: Bob Dylan-Mr. Tambourine Man
I'm listening to Bringin' It All Back Home right now! I'm on Outlaw Blues right now. I think the studio version of Maggies Farm sounds way too tame after hearing Dylan play it live with the Butterfield Blues Band at the Newport Folk Festival (it was at the Newport Folk Festival right?) Books are always a hundred times better than the movies....although I never knew Shawshank Redemption was a book. That must be a freakin amazing book. I love that movie. |
Stephen King wrote the Shawshank Redemption.
:amaze: Really?? That's amazing! His best book ever! When did he write it? |

The movie is amazing. I feel like crying at the ending every time. |
Early 80s, I think. It's a novella, so it's fairly short, and the only of his works I've actually read.
The next couple of years should be good for film adaptions. The Da Vinci Code and The Rule Of Four are being adapted (I wasn't a huge fan of DVC but it'll be fun to watch now I've read it), aswell as James Frey's A Million Little Pieces, which I can't wait to see.
Wasn't the Rule of Four a complete rip-off of the DaVinci Code? The best part is that I have read TROF but not TDC, so I wouldn't know if it was a rip-off I think the GOlden Compass should be comming out pretty soon, I've been looking forward to that They are probably going to put it all into one film and cut out all of the racy anti-relgious satanic bits Shame, really, I love that series |
They were both written at the same time. They are similar, but that's more because the genre is popular right now rather than any real influence. The Rule Of Four is a lot better too, the Da Vinci Code is written like a Hollywood movie, whereas ROF is a lot more realistic and better written.
And here I thought the best was yet to come... I think I was like many who were waiting for the DaVinci Code to come off of the waiting list at the library and checked out the Rule of Four instead I wonder if those steam tunnels really exist at Princeton |
My girlfriend read The Da Vinci Code and she swears it's one of the worst books she's ever read...so I am pretty much avoiding it.
|
i took aderrall again and have hit a new low. i feel so angsty. i even made a lame update on my livejournal.
in other news, this time tomorrow by the kinks is a pretty song. |
I was just listening to that album. I'm on Apeman right now.
|
That album is great. The Contenders, Powerman, Apeman, Strangers, Lola, all great tunes.
