I can't go back to sleep and I have an MRI in an hour so whatever.

This is my 2nd MRI because my neck still hasn't gotten better after a year of constant chiropractic and steroid injections. I'm in the process of suing the guy that hit me's insurance because they refuse to continue paying my medical bills even though it's a direct result of the crash. I've missed a ton of work and my neck is going to be screwed up for the rest of my life. Normally, I don't believe in suing people but this has gotten ridiculous. I'm going to have to get surgery now too because i really have no other option.

I have today and next week off from work as a paid vacation. I think I'm going to spend most of the time reading and trying to rest so my neck doesn't get even worse.

Yeah I'm not enthusiastic about it but I will return to work unless the doctor tells me I can't. I didn't want to take any time off work but I work for my dad and he insisted I take a paid vacation to get my neck looked at because my job fucks up my neck even worse. I was happy to continue working even though it was painful but he offered a paid vacation so I finally accepted.

I just feel bad taking any time off work and being paid for it because it doesn't seem right to me. I know that I need to get my neck fixed but I feel like it's my responsibility to do my job regardless and I have a lot of loyalty to our family business. Besides I feel really restless and worthless when I'm not working.

I have 3 herniated discs in my neck, arthritis and degenerative disc disease. The pain isn't unbearable but it's constant and some days it's worse than others. I'm hoping I can get a decent amount of money that will cover my medical bills and still have some left over. The lawyer told me I probably will because I've had to miss months of work due to this and have gone through "pain and suffering."

I may have to find another job that is less physically taxing after I get surgery but I'm not sure yet.

The doctor told me I could be on pain killers for the rest of my life if I wanted but I told him I don't want to do that due to my history of opiate abuse. I still take them occasionally but it's been less and less as time goes on so I don't want to be dependent on them ever again.

Besides opiates do nothing to correct the source of pain they only muffle it so that it's tolerable. In addition to that, I don't really get much relief from the amounts they would prescribe me because of my tolerance.

It's unpleasant but I've learned to live with it over the past two years. To me it's really not worth it to be on opiates even if they will make the pain go away because I know if I have a whole bottle of them there is no way that I won't abuse them. I've been fine taking them recreationally every once in a while but having a whole bottle is a different thing entirely.

I think I'm starting to grow out of my drug phase more and more. Most of the time I don't even think about opiates and when I do take them I don't feel like taking them again for a while.

I haven't done any hard drugs or been addicted to any thing since July 5th of last year which I'm pretty happy about.

Funny thing is my dog also has herniated discs and she went in for surgery today.

[I]Darksiders[/I] looks really good.[I] Arkham City[/I] is only $20 too. might grab those, [I]Mirror's Edge[/I] and [I]Bioshock[/I].

Arkham City is pretty cool especially if you're a fan of Batman. The only issue I have with it is I beat it in two sittings on hard. It took me about 10 hours. There are side missions and stuff but i wasn't really enthralled enough by the gameplay or world to complete those.

I've heard that Darksiders is a lot like Zelda but with an "omg so dark, so edgy" atmosphere. Can anyone that's played it confirm or deny this?

As far as licensed games it's one of the best. I still prefer Arkham Asylum because I think it captures the feel of Batman better and I feel like it has more detail put into the areas since the developers only had to make the asylum and not an entire city.

I have no problem with dark fantasy games

it does play a lot like zelda and it's about the four horsemen of the apocalypse, i guess it's kind of a devil may cry vibe

first DMC was so fucking good apart from the shite cutscenes

I'm skeptical but it could turn out really well. My first impression is it's sort of a gimmick. In some ways I still have a lot of faith in Nintendo but it worries me how they're leaning more and more towards the casual market.

The last Zelda was really easy even for a Zelda game. That fucking Fi would tell you how to do everything and when you were low on hearts she would tell you that you needed to find more every time.

Speaking of Dark Fantasy, I've been pretty obsessed with Berserk and it is VERY dark. It's very well written and drawn but there are very graphic depictions of gore and rape. I would recommend it if you're into Fantasy or manga and can tolerate gore. I wrote a longer review of it in the anime thread.

yeah i've seen that series about. just looked at the screenshots, impressed

the puzzles are generally pretty well thought out. the story is kinda meh, but the game is really pretty and it has a really high level of polish. also, it rewards thorough exploration, and swooping around as the thief with your swinging rope is a ton of fun
