I've heard it a couple of times, and it's actually much better than the old stuff. Much more mature vocals and better instrumentation. I think this could be a pretty good album.

As far as BFMV is concerned with the new record... I foresee another "The Crusade" which could be either really good or really bad... but money's on bad though.

What do you mean in the way of The Crusade? As in a band that went from a great album(Ascendancy) to a crappy album(The Crusade)?

Ascendancy's great because Hacksaw To The Throat wrote two of the major riffs on the album...

as in another band that isn't really especially great, but has promise attempting something they can't pull off and just failing miserably, i.e. Trivium.

More like, A Gunshot To The Head of Trepadation's main riff is the rhythm from a short portion of one song, and the main riff of Ascendancy is just the opening riff of another song. Not every band bases their songs off of three riffs.

Norma Jean is JUST decent now.

I loved their release "Bless The Martyr, Kiss the Child."
When it came out, it was original.

I think all the generic scene bands of today ripped off that album.

The new BDM is great. Unhallowed was good, Miasma mediocre.

I listened to [I]Unhallowed[/I] a smidge when it came out, but it got old mad quick.

"Bless the Martyr..." is still a rad album and isn't a blatant rip-off of "We are the Romans" like "O` God the Aftermath" is.

I don't know about that. Musically it's about the same. Vocally, it's just half-different.

They have a different drummer now, right? I bet he's not as good as the old guy.

They've had a different drummer on every release, and all of them do the same freaking thing. They might as well use a drum machine.

Drum machines usually sound crappy, though. Except for in F[I]u[/I]ck...I'm Dead.

*Except for when people actually know how to program drums. The only good example offhand I can think of is Herbst.

Awesome 90's metalcore, but with more of the emphasis on the hardcore side of it. And the singer from Kiss It Goodbye is in this band. :)
