Wow. I never imagined him to be that old. He still kicks heavy *** though.
Either did I. I thought he was in his mid 30's. I thought he just looked older than he really was. |

Too right. Can't believe his fingers can keep up at that age. :p |

I hope he doesn't get arthritus (sp?) in his fingers so he can't play. :( |
Either did I.
I dont see why its a big deal if the practice religion or not. As long as they make kick ass music.
Totally right man. |
What type of guitars does JP use now?
|
The last tour they did in Japan they played ALL of 8vm.
Dude, I'm seeing them March 17th too! In Minneapolis too, right? were are your seats? I got row 7
ARGH!! if i have to listen to all of 8vm I'll be pissed. i mean i'll be ecstatic cause DT is playing but that leaves off SO many better songs. I'd rather see falling into infinity all the way through. It may not be liked by a lot of DT fans but it is far better than 8vm. i got screwed on tix. the ticketmaster web site said they went on sale at noon on saturday jam 28th, but then for the hell of it i checked the site friday the 27th at like 8 o clock and they were on sale! i freaked and ordered as quick as i could. I'm in ro R so number 18. oh well, should still be good. Any help on getting a camera in?? |
JP uses his ernie ball music man signature guitars
|
JP uses his ernie ball music man signature guitars
Ok. Why did he switch from Ibanez? |
Ok. Why did he switch from Ibanez?
Don't know. JP also uses Music Man, also Steve Morse uses 'em. They're becoming quite popular. |
The JP signature ernie ball music man is not a bad guitar really. i played one at Guitar center and it really is nice and fast.

yea same thing happened to me, i got row 25. but hey it's better than nothing eh? i really want that musicman 7-stringer but it's $1800 easy where i live *sad* i guess ill shoot for something else cuz anything is better than a squiere strat *sadder* and a vox AD15vt *emo* life sucks. anyway, i doubt DT can keep up w/ their own songs. i give em 10 more years tops. |
i dont like to deal with ticket master either to be honest. especially when theres an old guy trying to see how the computer works.

John is totally into his EBMMs now and has repeatedly claimed they're better than his ibanez signatures.
The JP signature ernie ball music man is not a bad guitar really. i played one at Guitar center and it really is nice and fast.
they're GREAT!! super fast and sound awesome, I plan to buy one for my 2nd electric. It'll cover the bases my LP can't |

As long as they make kick ass music.
wella ctually the fact that they practice religion really gives me alto fo respect towards them, cause its finally a band I can relate to and enjoy there music, but really the fact as too whether or not the practice religion and how that affects their music is really personal preference |
i dont like to deal with ticket master either to be honest. especially when theres an old guy trying to see how the computer works.
well the only other option was to go to the venue myself. im lazy. or buy $150 or $250 premium packages that dont even include backstage deals anymore  |
I have a jpmm and they are better solely for the locking tuner system. that floyd rose **** is history for me.

I don't think it affects the music at all... I mean SFAM is about reincarnation, a belief that none of the band member's religions hold. That they made an album about it shows that the religion and music are seperate. |

Im not saying I have anything against religion. I am a practicing Roman Catholic so I relate to them to. Someone said that "they hope their sound doesnt change" because of this. I responded by saying who cares as long as they make kick ass music. NP: Dream Theater - Space Dye Vest |

that's it? well i've known been blessed with the opportunity to use a floyd rose trem. or maybe he meant FR tuners, if there is such a thing. |
A guy at the music store lent me a few Dream Theater cd's, he wanted me to borrow some live albums, but I didn't want them, at least not until I buy all their original albums first.
Anyway, I have "A change of Seasons" with a kid on the cover, I heard most of them were cover songs, I haven't heard it yet, but is it good? |
The title track is incredible, a true epic.
The other songs are live covers from a show in London, and are pretty cool. |

ok taht officialy marks the only DT CD i dont own.
i have the title track, but is it worth getting for the covers? |
hey 24 minute long songs arnt that bad when your tryin to get through the day at school faster. lol.
|
haha i sleep in math class to the beginning of 8vm and wake up several songs later.
|
hey 24 minute long songs arnt that bad when your tryin to get through the day at school faster. lol.
That they do. You're used to the song being long and it makes the day more fun. |
Its great, as long as you dont mind 24 minute songs. The covers are pretty good also.
Yeah, they cover some of my favorite songs (In the Flesh, Achilles Last Stand, Perfect Strangers, lots of good stuff.) |
Some of my non-prog fan mates think of me being crazy when I listen to 20min+ songs. They just don't get it...
|
Perfect strangers is brilliant. There just feels like something missing though. I love the "when you hear me talking on the wind, you've got to understand" part.

Yeah that part is awesome. Their covers of "Carry on my Wayward Son" and "Turn It On Again" are cool too. |

I know the feeling... I like the Bohemian Rhapsody and Carry on Wayward Sun covers. |
This sucks, they havent gave us the tour update in a week.
|
who cares as long as they hit my town? ;)
heh kidding. hope they get to your area man~ this 20th anniversary leg is going to be orgasmic. |
I wish they'd hit my town. That'd be the sex.
|
Will JP make a tour this year ?? For "Suspended Animations"
|
Wasn't that released last year?
|

Yeah, I also love the Elton John covers. |
They were surprisingly good. I didn't like the Zep ones but that's because I'm not to keen on Led Zeppelin.
|
Yeah, I also love the Elton John covers.
Dream Theater might be the only metal band that can cover Elton John. Perfect Strangers owns on it. |
